Could have ripped the patch off this one.

So it looks like he's buying low end cup players with decent patches and swapping them with the higher end players with plain patches. He's sold off all the ones that he's dumped off already. You can see the Beleskey with Fowler's original patch. There are 35 cards here, so that means there's 35 high end cards that are going to be swapped.

Players he's bought in the last few months: Karlsson, Doughty, Enroth, Ekman-Larsson, Fowler, Suter, Weber...
So if you collect these players or ARP CUP cards, you better take a look.

Hopefully someone will keep track of which cards are being faked, including the lower end ones.

This is the most blatant evidence of patch faking I've ever seen, because we have proof that he bought every card. Seeing as how this would be an open and shut case, surely the RCMP would be interested since this would constitute internet fraud.

^ Agreed but we had ample evidence in the past as well and it's about time something got done for us honest people out there!

Yes for those of you compiling, please keep doing so. I have a couple friends of friends in the GVRD RCMP that I'm hoping may be of some help. I put a message out on Facebook to see if any of my contacts are in the RCMP (I don't know what many people on my friends list are doing nowadays) so once there's enough info compiled, I'll see if they're interested in pursuing.

I don't know if anybody has ever had THIS much proof, because not only can we prove that he's selling repatched cards, we can prove EXACTLY where he got the patches from, and that he sold the cards to get rid of the evidence, so to speak. I can't wait until he gets feedback from the buyer of the lot, so I can send the buyer a little email advising him that he bought a whole lot of tampered cards. The only saving grace of this whole issue is that he hasn't managed to sell even one of the upgraded cards, because he's asking way too much money for them. But since he sold the lot of lesser items, the RCMP should now be able to charge him with actual commission of internet fraud.

*EDIT* Anybody else see the irony in the feedback he leaves for the folks he's bought the cards from?

Just wondering, would it be ''legal'' if he had bought for an example another Ryan Suter patch card (post-RC year and cheaper) and put it on the Cup RC. Technically the swatch is from the same player and has been worn, so how would that be illegal. Not saying I wanna do it but just curious on the legal side.

Good luck

From experience I don't think they're is a snowballs chance that any law
enforcement entity would ever pursue charges relating
to hockey cards, but maybe EBay should be notified that this seller is
selling fraudulent items, because he using deceptive descriptions. They should
be able to lock his account

Nice work guys and thanks for posting. I love seeing these posts - helps me to stay away from these sellers.

This is about the closest example I could think of to your question, but is it legal for me to purchase a salvaged vehicle, replace it with related parts and represent it as original instead of rebuilt?

I'd gather the answer to my scenario is no...
