Decided back in February to take the chance on a couple boxes of 2023-24 UD Extended at the initial presell price. Here are the goods from box #1:
Silver Skates - Mitch Marner, Jordan Kyrou, Kyle Connor
Frankly they're ugly and the player selection on these is terrible.
UD3 - Matt Savoie, Dustin Wolf, Yaroslav Askarov
Never been a huge fan of UD3 and these aren't doing anything to change that.
Seeing Red - Kevin Fiala, Leo Carlsson, Kirill Kaprizov, Cole Caufield
Personally I think these are really sharp looking - a bit dark but attractive. Player selection isn't terrible, but let's be honest, these will be quarter box inserts.
UD Canvas - Jamie Benn, Vladimir Tarasenko, Harris, Vachon
Ho-hum, yeah the Vachon is a "legend" but really, is anyone clamoring for his cards? (apologies to the handful out there that care)
Beehive - Artemi Panarin, Erik Karlsson, Matthew Knies RC
I don't think they look as good as the originals - the choice of silver for the "woodgrain" is just odd. At least the Karlsson is PC.
SPx - Adam Fantilli RC, Ridly Greig
Another one of those re-dos where I was never a fan of the originals. Fantilli is probably the best card so far.
Black Diamond - Brock Faber RC, Carter Verhaeghe
OK, another decent rookie to go with the Fantilli above.
UD Retros - Will Cuylle, Pavel Mintyukov, Dylan Larkin
Yeah, two of the three are rookies, but...
Young Guns - Jiri Kulich, Ryan Johnson, Jayden Struble, Emil Heineman, Pavel Mintyukov 1st Rd, Adam Fantilli 1st Rd
So, another Fantilli, but just yuck...
Now on to the supposedly tougher and more desirable stuff...
Blue Dazzler - Fredrik Andersen
Pink Dazzler - Jake Oettinger
Not sure if the pink is supposed to be a special hit or not, but if one of the two "limited" cards in the box is a pink dazzler of Jake Oettinger, I'm not impressed.
Acetate Hockey Heroes - Luc Robitaille
I like Luc, and these cards are pretty, but not one you really want to pull.
Outburst Silver - Andrew Cogliano
Another 1 per box insert - another dud.
And now for what I'm guessing are supposed to be the two box hits:

Yes, I know there were a couple Fantilli's, a Faber, and a Carlsson so I would just get flamed if I called this a BAD box, but I dare anyone out there to post a more vanilla, uninspiring, boring, let-down of a break of this product.
As mentioned at the outset, I got two boxes, but after this one I'm not sure if I have the heart to bust the other one.
Other than the Karlsson that is PC, everything is available. Thanks for the look.
