1998-99 Lord Stanley's Heroes - hand numbered?

Noticed this Gretzky card up for auction and the numbering looked strange to me.

The description says it is hand numbered, but I've never seen another hand-numbered card from this set, including a Gretzky listed as a BIN and another one that recently sold.

On the other hand, the card is the #/100 version since the base set has blue borders & back, and the #/2000 set has silver borders & back. This one is gold.

Any thoughts on this card?

Is it possible it was sent out as a replacement, hence the hand numbering.

Thanks for the response. That's interesting. I didn't realize they did replacements with hand numbering, but it'd make sense.

UD started annoying collectors by sending out replacements with hand numbering instead of stamping them. This is most definitely one of them.
