2008-09 UD Black Gold 1-15 letters?

Are last season's UD Black Gold Rookies, that are serial numbered down to 15, sorted by letters? I do know that McLeod's #2 is "O", so does that make the "R" 1/1 card?

I know so far that
1 = R
2 = O
3 = O
6 = O
7 = K
10 = I
15 = E

Seems a bit weird distribution, if "R" is 1/1 while the total for "K", "I" and "E" would be 9.

You got 3 O's there. I believe the letters are not evenly distributed so some are shorter print than others. Was there not a 1/1 stamped parallel of the letters too?

I tracked all of them for awhile. 99% of them followed this.

R - 1
O - 2-6
K - 7-9
I - 10-12
E - 13-15

Every R I ever saw was 1/15

And I know you've seen this, but I like showing it off. I don't think anybody else has finished this for a player yet.

Yeah, there were a couple of exceptions that were pulled on the boards, but I only ever saw 3 cards that didn't follow the pattern above.

I actually bought up a couple of "R"s on eBay because I noticed it before anyone else.

Here's my old data from tracking McLeods Black /399 too.

I haven't heard anything, I think they're fairly evenly distributed. I tracked the McLeod ones. Here's what I got.

M - 16 different, all between 5 and 70
c - 7 different, all between 79 and 119
L - 17 different, all between 133 and 201
E - 11 different, all between 202 and 265
O - 28 different, all between 278 and 349
D - 12 different, all between 354 and 399

So with a little bit of guessing in between, I say

70 M, 62 c, 69 L, 64 E, 84 O, 50 D

Like I said, fairly even. The "c" might be a little shorter than I give it credit for, but there's at least 40 of them.

I wonder why those are not 67+66+67+66+67+66. I guess it would make too much sense for Upper Deck...

Nice, I remember these. Tough cards to find.

I have one of these in my Mole PC. It is the letter "O" numbered 2/15. Interesting to know the R's are 1/1's in a sense in these ROOKIE 'nameplates'.



There is also another Gold parallel Letter "E" on COMC right now numbered 13/15.

These are the only two I've seen in over 14 years.
