I watched a bunch of boxes of 2022/23 SPx being ripped and I wasn't all that impressed with what I saw. Better hits seem hard to find. This morning I went by the local to do a trade on some base Allen Ginter baseball cards from this year.
I was watching my trading partner open a couple boxes of Allen Ginter so I thought why not try a box of SPx.
Rip and like many I saw, was not in the least way impressed. Hit of the box was a Pride of the Nation Teuvo Teravainen auto flag 90/99 It was a nice looking card for sure but of course I had hoped for something else.
Set there a while and thought okay, I am stupid but lets try one more box from the four boxes left from their case.
Much, much, to my surprise!
I hadn't pulled one of his autos this year so nice to get pick number one.
Set there a little longer and thought I have never pulled much of anything out of Topps Chrome baseball. I know this is a hockey post but this was a really nice card
