I think everyone can officially put the Crosby vs Ovechkin debate to bed. They arn't even on the same level.
Halak played amazing!

The next series will prove why Crosby is and always was the better player.

Crosby = Winner
Ovechkin = Losser

Here we go, the Crosby droolers turning another thread into a "Crosby is better" cesspool. I love the talk about how Ovechkin tries to do too much on his own. The biggest knock on him in this series was he was trying to pass too much instead of shooting more, which shows he was trying to get his teammates involved more instead of being a one man show. But we all know the Crosby lovers will continue to bash the best all around player in the game to give props to their countrymen, very typical and expected. :banned:

If it makes you feel better, I'm not much of a Crosby fan and I was very unimpressed with Ovie in the series. He was completely predictable from Game 2 on: Cut down the wing past any friendly jersey towards the wall Montreal had at the blue line, try to cut towards middle, shoot if he made it through (which rarely happened). I saw very little fighting for the puck in the offensive zone, not much hitting in the past few games, and now that you mention it very little passing unless Washington was already established in the zone.

The series loss isn't on his shoulders alone, but he didn't do the team any favours by trying to be a one-man show. It can work in the regular season, it doesn't in the playoffs.

Meh...I admit I primarily think Crosby is better because he plays for the team I cheer for..Call me a homer see if I care...but it is no different for Many fans of Ovechkin. I actually be more inclined to say I don't care who is better as it is not going to change for which team I cheer.
Also I don't see why we can all appreciate 2 fantastic players in their own right..
Caps will address improvements and will continue to improve. I know it sucks seeing the team with the BEST record in the regular season go out early but if I put my bias aside I would say Ovechkin is a player that can't continue to lose in the playoffs..the man should lift the cup one day.
I think the Debate over 2 highly skilled players is pretty moot...Their style is different but both bring their fans out of their seats might in and night out. Hell I bet if they were on the same team they would teach each something and both would be better.

As far as the Conf. Finals...I would love to see a All Pennsylvania matchup

In order to be the best "all around" player in the game you must first be the best "all around" player on your team and Backstrom IMO has that title!

But we all know the Crosby haters will continue to bash the best all around player in the game. Very typical and expected. ;)

Sometimes Crosby Haters are worse than the "Drooloers"

You obviously missed the point entirely, which is to be expected when dealing with people driving with the Crosby blinders on. :rolleyes:

Your point was actually pretty clear, it was to comment on how #8 is the best and Crosby isn't in a thread that is a GDT involving Montreal :| As well you had to let it be known that Canadian people only "drool" over Crosby because of where he was born.

I find it ironic that you bashed the previous guy for bringing it into the thread yet you just had to throw you 2 cents in :Confused:

Who cares if Crosby is the best or 5th best in a GDT regarding Montreal and Washington.

Why can't people just let others Love Crosby or Love #8 without comment?

Love and hate for 8 and 87 aside...

... big players step up in big games. 8 didn't do much to stop a 3 game slide. He didn't get any help either. 28 was MISERABLE in that series.

Everybody's got the blueprint to deal with 8... it'll be interesting to see if he struggles out of the gate next year.

Earth to Magootz, come in Magootz. This is a Montreal/Washington game day thread, not a Crosby Lovers Unite thread. As always, whenever the Crosby Lovers Coalition sees a chance to throw jabs at Ovechkin, they jump in feet first with the Crosby Is A Winner - Ovechkin Is A Loser comments, as I pointed out in my response to said Crosby Lover:

The next series will prove why Crosby is and always was the better player.

Crosby = Winner
Ovechkin = Losser

If it's really that hard for you to understand, sorry, I don't think I can help you as I spelled it out as simple as possible.

Wow dude give it a rest. Sometimes you just have to ignore, which is exactly what I'm going to do for the rest of the comments in this thread.

You are right, but it gets really old really quick and it's nonstop from the Crosby fanclub. If the Ovechkin fans did this same thing in every Pittsburgh game thread, what do you think would happen? But you don't/can't see it that way, which is understandable/expected.

Children Children.........

All the analysts have already stated how the caps changed their game to NOT REVOLVE around Ovy during the playoffs. Which is stupid. When you have the best player in the world, you dont put him on a leash, you rally behind him.

So Im not sure why the crosby lovers (or at least one of them) is making statements. Save it for the GDT's, or go make a SC4LIFE thread....
