Just wanted to report GROSS shill bidding at its worst/finest.

Seller flyernatic listed an entire set of the 2002/03 BAP Ultimate Vintage Jersey Autographs /10. The seller then used 2 distinct shill accounts to place a false reserve of exactly $150 on all of the items.

Shill Account 1: galyeg609 (2 feedback, 75%, and previous exchange with seller)

Shill Account 2: buddyboy2365 (0 feedback, only bids on seller's items)

The seller's account is registered in New Jersey... and so are the 2 shill bid accounts.

Looks like another bidder and I figured out the scam, so we were happy to make his shill accounts pay the maximum of $150 for their own listings. Wonder if the seller is happy now that we maxed out his/her final value fees without actually winning any of the items.

I've subsequently reported it to eBay... for whatever that's worth.

Damn, I was even thinking of trying to win a few of those cards, too. Oh well.

CJ - I saw you bid on a couple. The auctions were ending by the time I realized what was going on, so I didn't have a chance to contact you. It became pretty obvious once the first couple ended and then noticed the same bidding pattern by the shill accounts. I'm glad you didn't bid hard to win on any of these because the seller doesn't deserve to get that kind of money this way.

I might even bought something from him in the past. After seeing that I wouldn't be bidding on anymore of his Items. Good work jaywings

I probably shouldn't be surprised at eBay's response, but:

Thank you for contacting eBay in regard to your concerns.

We're always concerned about possible policy violations on eBay sites
and appreciate your report regarding flyernatic. We thoroughly
investigated your report, but at this time there isn't enough evidence
to show that a violation has taken place
. We can reopen the
investigation if we receive additional information.

You've got to be kidding me.

Another loser lives to see another day of shilling.

Jay, you know as well as anyone that both eBay and PayPal's investigations/resolutions departments are run by drunken monkeys. Expecting logical conclusions from them is like expecting Stephen Hawking to get up and tap dance. Ain't happening.

However, you also know that word of mouth - such as these here posts - is also very effective. Particularly on the net.

I wonder...hm.
