I've been hearing from a relatively reliable source that Mikhail Grabovski has signed a 1 year deal with the Washington Caps. Haven't heard yet what the salary will be. Has anyone else heard this today to be true? The person I heard this from would have access to agents, so I'm wondering if it just hasn't been finalized yet, and announced? Anyone in Washington hearing this? Thanks!

I have heard the same thing from Grabo's biggest fan... and that's not his mom :whatthehell:

No terms announced, but I think he will be wearing red, blue & white next season... not CSKA

and it's official

The Washington Capitals have signed Mikhail Grabovski to a one-year deal.

The 29-year-old Belarussian spent the past five seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs, where he posted nine goals and seven assists last year in a lockout-shortened season.

A six-year veteran of the NHL, Grabovski had signed a five-year, $27.5 million extension with the Leafs in March 2012, but was then bought out by the club in July of this year after a post-season campaign where he was playoff-worst minus-10.
In 48 games with the Leafs last season, Grabovski scored nine goals and added seven assists.

Originally drafted in the fifth round (150th overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft by the Montreal Canadiens, Grabovski has scored 94 goals and 123 assists in 367 career NHL games with Toronto and Montreal.

I was reading rumors of it being a 1year/$3million deal. Nothing official yet, though, that I know of.

Edit - Nevermind, signing is official, money isn't yet.
