I've sent a couple of my ebay sales recently to a "Get it Shipped" address in Lebanon NH. Out of curiosity I did a Google search and found Get it Shipped International in Vermont, not sure if it's the same company, but for the first time I wondered about where my spending would have to be to make this cost effective. Between the subscription fee and the reshipping cost, I'm assuming I'd need to be getting regular quantity of packages monthly for this to work out (or I guess just occasional purchases from those that charge insane amounts to Canada).

Just curious if anyone has any thoughts on these options, guess it's also top of mind since I have a large Comc order to ship out that's going to be pretty damn costly when I get around to it.

I don't know what their subscription fee is, but there has to be a point where the cost balances out with what you would have spent.

I am in the US, but when I was selling off my Jagr collection about 18-months ago (if only I could have waited a little longer...!), I ended up sending to GISI addresses numerous times for a handful of buyers. Much, much cheaper than sending to the Czech Republic or other non-US countries. Plus as a seller/shipper, there is far less risk on my end, and my shipping obligation is done much quicker.

I've used Get It Shipped International out of Vermont for some time now and have no complaints. They have excellent customer service and have been super quick to help me with any issues.
If you're buying hockey card boxes or larger items from the States you can really save on shipping costs. I could get 4 different boxes from all around the US sent to that box, each jammed packed with packing material. Get It Shipped will open and repackage everything in a smaller box to save on cross border shipping instead of just throwing all the unopened boxes into one huge box. They also allow you to create your own shipping invoice for the package. This is key because you won't get racked over the coals from customs and its where the service really saves me money. I keep that invoice to $99, never get held at the border and avoid fees.

As per costs. This is a response email I received from GISI when I inquired about account costs and also asked about an example of shipping costs back in December 2020. I am located in Canada. Prices in USD obviously.

"Shipping to CA would be about $18 for up to 8 oz. about 10 basic size thickness cards.
The monthly basic is $10.00
Monthly VIP is $15.99 plus you get pictures and scans uploaded to our VIP drive on fridays. So you can see the seller sent you the correct cards and items.

You can ship anything you buy to us and not just cards."

That's helpful info, curious when buying on Ebay do you have the ability to enter the Get it Shipped address for US purchases and leave your normal address for Canada packages or do you need separate accounts?

Thanks for the info, the cost to reship the cards was certainly a missing piece of info on their site, that put's the reship at about $2/card (less with volume), and obviously that's far cheaper than the difference on most auctions between US and CAD shipping - of course I normally just avoid buying those, and this will mean I buy more (so it won't save me anything, but it will grow my collection).

Yup, i just switch from one to other depending on shippings costs and location.
I've also dealt with sellers who didn't read the information and have not included the box number, just wrote "Get it Shipped" and the folks at Get It Shipped have been able to recover and get them to my box. That service and being quick to help when it was not their fault has made me a happy customer.

I have used Get It Shipped for a few years now and I love it. I just pay for the whole year and it is like $60 I think.

Let me break it down for you a little bit. I live in Canada and if I am to buy a card from the States it costs me $10-12 on average. Now if I get it shipped to my GISI account it costs me $3 on average. I usually wait until I have 20-30 cards at my GISI address and then get them shipped to me and it costs around $40.

20 cards at $10 shipping is $200.

20 cards at $3 shipping is $60. Add $40 to get them shipped in one lot. Total is now $100.

I just saved $100 and I’ll do that probably three times a year. $100 time 3 is $300. Take away the $60 yearly fee and I save $240 a year.

One more thing is it gives me a little more bargaining power when dealing with a seller from the States on a site like this or a Facebook group. If he is a seller and knows it will cost him $10 plus to ship to me in Canada, I can tell them that they can ship it to my American address. If we are going back and forth on a price I tell them that I can save them $10. Happy sellers make happy buyers.

I use ShipMyCards and have been happy with their service. No annual fee and you don't have to pay them for each purchase. Just pay everything when you want your items shipped.

I'm really happy with ShipMyCards. No subscription/monthly fee, the customer service is top notch as well. I'll usually wait for a bunch of stuff to come in and then request a FedEx shipment. Delivery with FedEx takes 1-3 days.

They also have the ability to sell on their site and have items transferred between user accounts.

I'm confused because their fee structure (below) makes it sound like charge a fee for incoming cards:

Here is a simple breakdown of the fees we charge for incoming packages:
Arizona Address:
$2 per card
$5 per lot
$5 for a box of Cards
$5-$20 per large Item
$20+ for extremely large items
Oregon Address:
$5 per card
$8 per lot
$10 for a box of Cards
NO Large items without prior approval.

Been using GISI for close to 2 years now.

If you buy alot get the VIP membership for a full year , 55% off code on there facebook page. Scans of your cards arrive there every friday. With the tax free location it comes to roughly 10$ a month if you use the promo code. Have item ship to me every 3 months or more depending on purchase , i think its 60$ for priority service.

They misplaced a few cards of mine last year , was lucky i made a post on a France NBA group , first guy that reply told me he saw said cards in his scans uploads. He taught he got them in random breaks. Dont know if they would of find them if i didnt , take the VIP service to track your purchase. Got scan uploads after that episode.

Sorry, you do pay per card, you just don't pay it until you want. They pretty much give you credit if that makes sense. They also scan your card into your personal inventory.
