Anyone see PM Bouchard's spin-o-rama goal in the shootout last night?

It was pretty nice, but it was borderline running the goalie. Another stride or two and he would've bowled over the Blackhawks goalie and the puck would've just slid in anyways...haha

This may seem bias because I'm a Blackhawks fan, but I also defend goalies 9 / 10 times.

I don't think players should be able to do that. I mean, I'm pretty sure he was touching Khabby if not on top of him... how are they supposed to stop the puck? Also... what happend to forward progress? I don't really consider slamming on the breaks forward progress.

I agree - the ref should have had some stones and waved it off. Khabby couldn't have made the move across with Bouchard kicking his foot out like that.

bouchard never stopped moving towards the net

Yeah, the rule used to read that the puck had to continue to make forward progress toward the goalline... it's now the player, and refs have been instructed to allow for as much leeway as possible.

It was a great move,
creative to try it in a real game.
and good on em that it worked.

Sure he hit Khabby's leg, but really, no chance for Khabby on it regardless, I didn't see him protest.

Great goal, and the kind of goal that the shootout is all about,
Something that gets people talking and asking 'did you see that?? wow!"
