Interesting, I am of the opinion that Aucoin's best years are behind him but he might be a good fit.If he can stay healthy, that is. Though I don't like his salary I am more than happy to see Zyuzin out the door. That guy is a defensive liability.

I suppose this leaves little room for the Roman Hammer or Stuart to return, though. I wonder how long it takes Sutter to trade Huselius as well.

Oh god.. Why Aucoin?? Far from being worth 4 million a year. I have no problems seeing Zyuzin leave but Aucoin???

I still remember picking him 2 years ago in my draft as a defense and watching him do NOTHING..

Wasn't he like 15 points and minus 20 something last year?

Plus the fact that he missed a bunch of the season with an injury..

Ugh...

Was anyone on the 'hawks not minus a million last year? While I don't know how this will pan out Aucoin can log solid minutes when healthy and can offer a solid follow-up to the Dion on the PP. Of course, $4 million for a guy who might be healthy is a bit of a risk...

Just remember: In Sutter we trust!

This is a tellin quote....

The Flames were in the market for a defenceman and zeroed in on Aucoin, who has a history with new Calgary coach Mike Keenan. In 1998-99, Aucoin scored 18 of his 23 goals on the powerplay for Keenan's Vancouver Canucks.

Wonder if Keenan will be able to bring in some of his other ole reliable's?

I think Aucoin had a nickname for last year it was Adrian AuGROIN since he was out so much with injuries. If healthy he is a decent defenseman but it could be like others said and his age catching up with him.

Maybe they're hoping that between Aucion and Warrener they can get the equivalent of one full NHL season.
