Cards that you're amazed you can't find

I know this thread has been done before, but it seemed like a good one to try again. Last time around, I know there were some members that acquired cards because of it. I know I found and sent a few off myself free of charge because I really like the chase...

Anyway, I'm not talking about cards with print runs less than 100 or so. Oh, you haven't seen the Cup Black 1/1 of your player appear? Big surprise. Obviously, /100 from 10 years ago isn't the same as /100 from last year either. Also, not looking for a bunch of Victory Blacks and OPC Blank Back requests. Not numbered, but everybody knows those are rare. And try not to post stuff that is available on eBay, just not at a price of your liking. All I'm saying is use a little judgement, because if I agree it's something that should be easier, I'll probably spend 10 minutes trying to find it for you.


I'll start with a few examples of stuff I've been hunting for awhile.

• 1993 Classic Four-Sport #217 Gold /3900 Chris Simon - I think this came in team sets, and since it wasn't all hockey, maybe I'm looking in the wrong places. Traded for it once, only to receive the base card.

• 2005-06 Black Diamond #157 Ruby /100 Jay McClement - Is there a lot of this still unopened or something because it's 05-06? I think this is the only card /100 or more in my Avs collection that I've never seen. Even a big St. Louis collector who I bought most my McClement stuff from had never seen one.

• 2005-06 UD Victory #52 Silver /250 Adam Foote - Yeah, I know it's Victory. But still, it's /250. And unlike some of the earlier stuff on my Foote wantlist, I was actively searching for him when this one came out.

And just because it's Deadmarsh and I'd basically kill for the card:

• 2002-03 Victory Silver #95 Adam Deadmarsh - I'm not at all amazed I can't find this, but I am a bit angry at this point. There's plenty of people needing these, and I'm glad me opening 70 boxes of the stuff helped some of those people out. I'm at about half of the 220 card set, and for the record, I'd estimate the print run at 125-150 copies.

Seen plenty and yet plenty of One of Kind /150 with Barrasso but strange enough that I has yet too seeing a copy of FDI /150 with him even after all those years of collecting...!

Does that card even exists or what, same with 94-95 Action Packed COA (but has been almost confirmed that mostly of those cards aren't even produced after all)

There're plenty of Johan Hedberg parallels (pretty many of them are even unnumbered!) who're impossible to finding....but a bit too many to listing but it's mostly from between 2002-2004 in his Penguins uniform....

1998-99 Topps Gold Label Class 3 Red 70 Khabibulin - I know it is out of 25 but it seems like two or three of other players show up a month, and Khabibulin is never one of them.

The last Three Pacific Parallels I need to finish off all of Pacific. Burbank had the Silver listed for $35.00, which now seems like a reasonable price back in 2004.

This card is not listed due to poor stamping on Topps part. I have seen no less than 20 of the "One of a Kind" cards because they at least look different enough to list on Ebay.

Those are mine...the others are just too pricey or I missed them because they ended at odd hours.

05/06 MVP Prosign Trevor Linden

When this product first came out I saw a couple here and there...and I regret not picking one up at the time. But now....the product is dead. With rc's of Crosby and Ovechkin in the set, boxes never go on sale so nobody busts it as a "cheap break". And there's not enough bang for your buck to drop the coin on it as it stands now.

Not serial numbered. It is a tougher pull....but still.

I haven't seen a copy up for grabs in easily 5 years.

- yes, it's rare - but I haven't seen a one. I have 3 of the 05/06 BD Golds, I have 5 of the HG, heck - I even have 2 of the BAP Gold autos from that year - but not one of the Third Periods. [Also, as an aside - I completed the 05/06 UD plates - but haven't seen a single one from 06/07 - odd]

I came late to the party on collecting McCarthy, but in the 7 years I have collected him - I haven't seen one. Even regular Exclusives from the Program of Excellence seem to be hard to find. Part of that is likely player quality, but still none on the usual suspects.

I may have seen these early in the project as I've been working on these for more than a decade BUT nothing since - and I'm guessing I've searching specifically for 2-3 cards from these sets for 5 years and now am down to these two.

I have been looking for over 10 years for a multicolored Scottie Upshall 2002-03 SPX rookie.I would think that there should be some out there.I have seen lots of other players from the same set that are more than one color.But nothing in Scottie.Or at least not yet.

I have quite a few I am shocked I cannot find. Most of remaining Turco wantlist is cards /10 or less. However I do still need these few, which I am shocked I have yet to come across... I'd pay in some cases 20x BV for these, maybe more....

I know it's /25, but still...I don't recall seeing one back when this product was released. I wasn't really into GU at the time, but was picking up some pieces and might have at least seen one if it hit the Bay. I wouldn't have seen one period if HI's "BlindThomen" Sauli hadn't pointed me in the direction of a Chelios collector who had one on his PC website. That one's tied up (I asked), so if anyone knows of another, I'm all ears...
