By the sounds of things, there was a collision in practice that somehow ended up with Desharnais landing on Carey's head. It's nothing major-major--he's not sitting in a blackened room or anything like that--but obviously the Habs are going to be smart with their franchise player and just going to shut him down. Probably means that the Worlds are out of the equation too.

It's still possible for the Habs to still the #2 slot for the draft lottery. If Edmonton is still tied for points, they automatically rank in the standnigs for two reasons: More non-shootout wins + they won the season series against Montreal this season. Anyway, I think that Edmonton is going to still need a good defensemen anyway + another goalie since it's obvious that Khabibulin is not cutting it there. If they fail to get better blueline depth, they will be like a southeast division team.
