A few things:
The stick looks real it has a Potvin autograph that is pretty close to his regular style.
The stick can easily be photo matched as that was the stick he used in the 80s.
There is wear on this stick but not a ton so that means it was likely not used very long.

But the only problem I'm having is the lack of COA the price is amazing if it is infact Game Used and not a replica of some sort.

So I was hoping someone with experience in purchasing game used items could help me out. But by all accounts the stick is legit. Also anyone who has purchased from this seller before would be great to hear from aswell...

So should I pass it up? Or take the risk?
Basically a low risk / high reward situation...

Both of the GU'd sticks I have are game dated - one was hand dated by the trainer, other has a stamped date.

it's usualy on the underside of the stick and he doesn't show that view.

But it does look legit.

Some more information he used a Koho stick as seen below...

and then the titan stick later in his career as seen above...

i cannot stress this enough - Photomatching will not be easy. Potvin probably used over a thousand sticks in his day. If there is no COA look closely at the tape job - get as many photo references as you can. If you are not 100% comfortable with the purchase, walk away. I personally would never spend money on something I am not 100% comfortable with - goes for autographs, game used from anywhere other than meigray and vintage cards.

This is very true. Thank you.

what he said 100%

go with how you feel and what you think. also if you know anyone who collects the same player or team, ask them for their opinion as well. I done that with a few buddies of mind and it has help us out

Hope this helps. I had this stick for a short time a few years ago. Hope you can compare and it helps. Sticks are hard to prove that they are game used. Could be practice used. Could be given to someone who used it themselves. etc. I did take a photo of the number on back of blade so maybe ask seller for a photo of theirs. Was able to match a Lemieux that way....not photomatch but verify number on it.
Good luck.
