eBay... what's the point of subtitles?

I'm selling a lot of cards and for the first time ever opted to insert a "subtitle" to my listing at a cost of 50c just so I could fit in the extra names of players in the lot so that my listing would pop up in a wider range of search results.

As I'm searching, I realize that the player names in the subtitle don't register in my search queries. For instance, one of them is Kovalchuk, and if I search his name, my auction doesn't pop up, but Patrick Kane does because he's in the main title.

So what exactly is the point then of subtitles, especially at an extra 50cents, which is about 45cents more than what the entire auction costs to list?

For people that add `title and description` to there search, to give more details about the card like subgrades or mile long subset name a la ITG.

I dont use it much, but im doing a huge rookie, auto, jersey lot soon and will squeeze some details in there to help get more views.

I got caught with that recently - luckily I was able to fix it and the cards I originally had subtitles for eventually sold.

I also use ebay.ca - it is not free - it cost me $0.50 each time I wanted to use it
