I'm on the fence about adding these to my Domingue PC. I have bought one card and just cant seem to decide on to collect or not to collect. Just not sure what all the cards there will be of him.

I might just collect the super nice patch cards.
Price might be another option I can set a max price and stick to it.

What's your thought on adding to your player PC with these cards?

Thanks Brian

Go with your heart. I mean. That is all it comes down to in the end.

I won't pay the same for them that I would for the non vault version.

I have no idea what kind of cash you have for this hobby. If you are one of the guys with deep pockets, I would pick them up cause you probably won't see them again or for a long time and decide later.

In the end I am with Ameet. Go with your heart.

I say if you like them, grab them. If you don't, then don't.

There hasn't been a ton of Ranford stuff this year for me to chase, so seeing some Vault stuff pop up has been nice. These 1/1s ain't worth $50 to me though. Not even close. I'll grab them if the price is something I think is fair... and if it's not, I'm not worrying about them.

I'm adding them, but I collect a "common" player who MAYBE has 6-10 cards in the set.

If I collected one of the guys who has 100+ cards in the release, I'd probaby not be real happy about it as a PC person.

To the original poster, I would definitely collect them if the price is fair, or the card has a unique swatch, then I'd say go for it!

Might need to start another thread for this but what are everyone's thoughts on picking up a Vault 1/1 card if you can't find the original, un-stamped version? Would it still "count" toward my Player PC's card count?

I ask because there may be a few things coming out of Final Vault that have been collected, stamped, and now re-released in Final Vault.

Thanks for anyone's opinions :)

Every Vault release has me adding as many new cards to the wantlist as possible. The lack of checklists really makes it a difficult task. I only add to the list when I've physically seen the card show up.

Do I chase them.....nope. And I have no plans to do so.

The odd occasion I've seen cards go for what I think are fair amounts. Most of the time I see cards land on eBay for 3x, 4x, 5x (or more) what I feel is a reasonable amount. Sellers can price them for what they want, but these cards are nothing really special in my eyes. A stamped auto card from a decade ago that would sit in a loonie box today doesn't warrant $20 because it has a Vault stamp on it.

Like I said, I'll add it to my player's master wantlist.....but I have no intention of crossing them off my list anytime soon. If ever.

If the price is right, I'll take 'em. If it weren't for Vault I'd be really bored this week... for my main collections there are like 3 cards in total right now that I'd be interested in on the 'bay, and all are ridonculously overpriced, but I neeeed something to open in the mail over the next couple of weeks, so sure I'll get me some Final Vault.

Unlike the other Vault products where things were limited to 1-3 copies, given that many of the cards can have up to 10 copies for memorabilia, and who knows how many when it comes to autographs, I'm not going to go all OCD and try to get them all, just one copy of each Sedin will suffice for me.

Yup, I am trying to get as many of the Roy masks as I can for the right price. If the price is too high I will just pass. Good luck.

If the price is right on them I pick them up for the Turco collection. But you get so many sellers who are so out to lunch on their prices. So far I've been able to get 5 cards for good prices, but have also been offered some cards where I've just laughed at the prices and passed on them. Definitely won't lose any sleep over passing on any of them, I just see them as bonus cards much like show stamped cards

I'll only be adding cards that I don't have the original of and that's if the price is right. So far I've only seen one Niedermayer that I don't have the original of and the price is definitely not right.

Avoid them!!! you dont need and exact copy of a card your may already own that someone has simply thrown a stamp on....I have already come across a card of my PC player that I have never seen the regular version of in my over ten years of collecting, and now within the first 2 days of release there is one on ebay....all this made me do is take the original off my want list as it was probably never released in the first place...gimmicky and tacky not one of these cards will be added to my collection

The lack of checklist is frustrating for me too, but I add them to my list when they physically show up and will try to get them all. So far, I have 6. Prices have been all over the map but reasonable for the most part.

If a Vault stamped copy of an original card I don't already own shows up (not likely - I have most of Murphy's ITG releases) I would not consider it a substitute for the original card. I would consider it a placeholder and unique addition to my collection.

I get that Vault isn't for everyone. For me, it's a great opportunity to add more GU and auto'd cards to my PC at a mostly reasonable cost that I can classify as unique because of the stamp(s).

The only stuff that I've been following that has ended in a decent price, seem to be only those that are listed as auctions. Isn't that how it always is, anyways? Most of the BIN pricing is way too high, and that's fine, not anything different than normal. They can keep those ones, as I don't think anyone needs to overspend on the cards that you can find the same without the V stamp.

I won't pay any more than the original values. The stamp means nothing to me, I just like the fact that a lot of the old stuff, which I would rather have any day of the week, in comparison to any new stuff, is flooding the market. I'm gonna pick up singles as I can afford them.

I just picked up a Sundin auto for $20, and yes I already have it, and the gold version, but I have no problem dropping $20 on any Sundin auto. This one was a mail-in redemption, so I know a lot of these never hit the streets back in the day. That is why there are a lot of Roy autos from the same set hitting the market from Final Vault.

I've picked up a Dave Manson & a couple Odelein cards. Made an offer on a Gary Roberts but it was countered higher than I was comfortable paying for a novelty card. They're just not worth $25-30 for what in all honesty are common/unpopular guys.

Only you can decide if you want them in your collection. I know there are mixed feelings on these with collectors. I won't pay a premium for them as I don't see them as true 1/1 but If I see one I like I will buy or trade for it.

The problem is that there always some who wants unreal amount of $$$ for a ITG Vault with some certain players like this....

Seriously....? Check out the seller's other listing, it's hilarious , seriously 1.5x-2x of a box price for a "crap" card from Final Vault......

But otherwise I like Vault card so long it's reasonably priced and has managed to picking up 2 Final Vault cards which I don't seen a copy of the unstamped one for a awfully long time or never even seen a copy earlier!

I respect Dr. Price and BAP/ITG was my favorite company when it had a license but I'm amazed what people are paying for a box of backstock jersey and autographed cards that ethically shouldn't exist.

First I want to acknowledge that people are looking for great pulls from these boxes and there are some.

But what they are really buying is nostalgia. Most of the people I have seen really happy breaking this product are people who were really big into collecting while ITG had a license. I have seen a few people who dont collect anymore jump back in for this. While some of the breaks were weak. $100ish isnt bad for a trip back to over a decade ago when the hobby was just juming big time into game used and autographs. For me each year there seemed to be something new and exciting. There is still innovation now. But the hobby feels stale to me. I almost bought a couple of boxes just for that 1999 to 2005 excitment but life got in the way and I had a few thousand dollars in extra expenses. But I have really enjoyed seeing what others have pulled. What you see as back stock that shouldn't exist. Some of us see as fond memories with a little foil stamp on them.
