Season series: The Calgary Flames have lost twice at home to the Vancouver Canucks, most recently 2-0 on Dec. 29. This is the first of three games at Rogers Arena, where the Canucks have won four in a row against the Flames.

Big story: The Canucks have to be delighted to be home after a nightmarish three-game trip that saw them sandwich 1-0 losses around a 9-1 whipping by the Anaheim Ducks. But the Flames are a better team on the road than at home; they've lost seven in a row at Scotiabank Saddledome but split their past four away Calgary.

They would have jumped anyone that was in front of them. That's the only reason they were out there.

They would have jumped anyone that was in front of them. That's the only reason they were out there.

You could make an argument that their rivalry is even bigger than the Battle of Alberta the past few years.
