I guess I'll be the neutral party who starts this thread.

I want a clean fight and nothing below the belt! :D

I also hope there's a zillion lead changes and the game ends on a goal in the opening 10 seconds of OT.

no matter what happens it has been a great season for the Wings. How often do teams repeat or even get a chance to play for the Cup. I am particularly pleased with how Chris Osgood has answered the bell and been magnificent between the pipes. This has been a terrific series and definitely worthy of a one game winner take all game 7 like we got.

I just hope my flights aren't screwed up terribly so I can see this game - if I am in the air when this game starts I am going to be livid - come on American Airlines

I am cheering for the Pens, but I would not bet on them to win. It's anyone's game, and any one player can make the difference and have the game of his life, so I am hoping one of the Pens player's steps up and proves me wrong...

But the Wings are the better team from top to bottom, and especially on defence. The Pens only hope is to play the same type of game in Detroit that they have played in Pittsburgh. They need to put constant pressure on the Wing's defence, and make sure that there are some turnovers by guys who don't turn the puck over much.

And MAF has to have the game of his life.

Something inside tells me it is not the Pen's time yet, though. Yes, they have been to the finals before, and they say all of the right things...but they look so nervous when they play in Detroit, specifically the star players.

I hope I am wrong. I would love to see Crosby lift the Stanley Cup.

Won't see it. My daughter's grad ceremony is probably just a bbbiiitttttttttt more important.

Here's hoping all the Hossa haters have to eat their words. Hope he gets the Cup winning goal. :D

The whole Pittsburgh fan hating Hossa thing is a curiosity to me. He wasn't a long time member of the team but rather a rental player who came to them at around the trade deadline. So he has no ties to the team or the area or anything like that and decides to go to Detroit- why is that such a huge deal? It wasn't only a choice between Pittsburgh and Detroit, there were MANY teams after him- if anything the Edmonton fans should have been more bitter because the biggest contract offer he was getting was from them. The way people talk about it, its as if Mario jumped from Pitt to the Wings!

Now that would be great!
Go Wings!!!!!!!!!

Has been a great series, my wish is Ozzie pitches a shut-out. He has been so suspect, by the media about he regular season but has certainly silenced them all with his postseason play. Chris Osgood for Conn-Smythe.
Go Wings

Melrose and Jim Rome picked Detroit, Kornheiser and Wilbon both picked Pittsburgh. Melrose has been wrong all series. Did anyone else see any predictions?

For me, it's because I am a fan of irony, not that I hate Hossa. I personally didn't want him back with the Pens. I thought he was good at times, invisible at others (just like he has been for the Wings).

I just think it is funny that he might get beat by the team that he left so that he could go somewhere else to win the Cup. Great karma.

It's sad when a man has his priorities so out of whack.

:) Just kidding. But game 7....ouch.
I have four daughters. I'll probably face the same situation some day...

The day Franzen is named the Conn Smythe winner!!!! Hossa will either score the GWG or will be the goat on hte Pens GWG. I'm going to say this now, it'll be a scoring fest. 5-4 Wings!

Franzen for Smythe would be awesome for your collection. I have a feeling Zetterberg and Ozzy are ahead of him at this point if the wings win it though.

HAIL MARIO!!!!!!!
GO PENS!!!!!!!

Pens fans don't like him because of what the team gave up to get him. Colby Armstrong was a fan favorite and when Hossa decided not to stick around, the fans felt like it was a slap in the face.

Sort of the same deal with Jagr. He was booed everytime he came back to play in Pittsburgh. The fans feel if they are loyal to you, you should be loyal to them.

While I try to understand - it is a ridiculous sentiment.
The Pens made the trade - not Hossa.
They did it to win The Cup - and they came within a hair of doing so last year. With Hossa almost being the hero of game 6!!!!

They do not call them rent-a-players for nothing!!!

I think some of Hossa's desire to move was also due to the coaching situation in Pittsburgh. I can't speak for Hossa - but it is never fun being in a situation where the coach is not really the person in charge!!!!Think about that for a minute.
