PENGUINS (28-9-0) at RANGERS (17-15-3)

TV: NBCSN

Last 10: Pittsburgh 9-1-0; New York 4-5-1

Season series: This is the fourth of five meetings, with the final one Friday. The Pittsburgh Penguins have won the first three by a combined score of 12-3, the past two by 3-0 shutout, and seven in a row over two seasons.

Big story: The New York Rangers enter with the longer winning streak (one game) after the Penguins had their 15-game run end in a 4-1 loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday. Each team has made significant additions prior to the NHL Trade Deadline, with the latest Ryane Clowe coming to the Rangers from the San Jose Sharks.

game of the night on nbc, cool to see iggy get his 1st goal as a peguin. hopfully tommarow they have a better night.

on the other hand, i love watching callahan play, he is such a workhorse.

gonna be a great game!

Penguins appear to have zero clue on defensive zone coverage. Bylsma needs to stick with a fricken line combo for more than 3 minutes.

Clowe with 3 points, wow, looks like he has found his game eh? Pens look completely lost in all aspects, sometimes messing with chemistry is not good. They won 15 in a row and still felt they had to bring in 3 players, this will be interesting if they don't gel and start sliding.

Welcome to Broadway to all three new Rags. Brass with a sick assist to start things off, Clowe with the big hit and shot on the opening shift to accompany his 2 points (almost 3), and Moore has looked very good at first glance jumping into the play and making smart moves with the puck (he looks like a less experienced Del Zotto, and there is nothing wrong with that).

As for the Pens, you lose Crosby and your GM loses his mind. No clue why they 'had' to get these veterans. Yes they are good players, but you mess with a team built around 1 player by adding star veterans from completely different teams. Everyone wants to be a leader on the team, and they are playing like it right now (yes its only been about 4 periods, but they are not the same pens). On the plus side, Malkin and Iginla have had some nice passing plays / one timer feeds, give them some time and it will all work out. That could be scary....

Team just lost the "Star" player and everyone is getting on the trades? 12 Games to find chemistry...I think the Pens will be the Beast of the East...until they run into the Habs ;)

Lets go Iggy...:)

Brassard with a PPG (1G 2A) to make it 4-0

Clowe with a PPG off the between the legs feed from Brassard for his 2nd goal of the game to make it 5-1

Marian who?

All three major assets today have chipped in big time. That will help to fill Gaborik's void if they can even remotely continue that stuff....
