Hey all, glad to be back here and see the updates to the site, should make things a lot more user friendly, especially for images!
Here’s one of my most recent additions, and it is a grail item!
It may not look like much to most people, but this 2007-08 Rochester Americans home jersey was the first jersey ever worn by Derek Whitmore during his pro career! After completing his college career, Derek signed with the Buffalo Sabres at the end of the 2007-08 season, joining his hometown Americans for eight games to finish the season. This jersey, worn for six games including his pro debut, had been in the original owner’s collection since 2008 (it was given away as part of the Americans’ jersey off their backs game) but recently changed hands before being offered to me last month. To have a hugely significant piece like this practically fall into your lap out of nowhere is a huge thrill, and this jersey is certainly the most significant among the 20 Whitmore jerseys in my collection!
