I'd just like an opinion please

i have built the 05/06 hot prospect set with all the rookie patch autos etc and the complete set of base jersey cards... what is a reasonable price to sell it for.. if you want to see the patches for placing value, please look at my photobucket and the folder 05/06 Hot Prospects. It's very hard to price out a huge set like this, so many cards to price and such. I'd suggest looking into a bulk buyer of some sort to see what they say on the open market.

If you were to sell it as a set, I'd would expect it to sell for about $750-$1K (tops) on eBay. You would probably get a little more for it in person, since people can check each card out individually for condition and patch quality, and if you were to piece it out, you'd likely do better than selling as a set. For whatever the reason, Hot Prospects just wasn't widely well received, and while there are a couple key cards in there, other than the Crosby and Ovy, the rest of the key cards wouldn't attract much attention due to the patch pieces (Lundqvist, Perry, Getzlaf, Vanek, Carter, Richards, Phaneuf, Parise).

Good luck with the sale though. It's one set that I have considered building on more than one occasion, although I am not willing to attempt it until I am done the 07-08 set. Great job on completing it.

I kind of agree with the above statement. For some reason, HP just doesn't command the resale value I think it deserves - any year of the product. A Lundqvist 4clr will net about $85 right now.....I think should be closer to $150. The 1clr you have would probably fetch like $60. I had Callahan from 07-08 3clr, and people want to give me like $25 for it....

Beautiful set, and nice patches on Crosby and Ovechkin! I would probably put it up for $2000 OBO and see what happens.

i would sell it individually as you can get more for each card.

nice patches on the crosby and ovechkin, but from the few that i've seen of the others, they are predominantly single colour. perhaps you can upgrade those if the price is right?

II think you better off piecing it out.I once bought all the 05/06 SP Authentic auto rc`s for 1100, the Sid and Ovy combine where going for 900-950$.Of course a one shot deal is less assle then listing and shipping them all individually.

That is a nice looking set. I don't know what these guys are complaining about with "a lot of single color". I saw that there was maybe 9 cards that were solid single color. If you work on the set a little more, you could replace those single colors or the "boring" 2 colors with better swatches. It would create a greater premium on the set, but as it is, it is a superb set, nonetheless. In it's current condition...$2000, $2500 for all patches with 2 colored patches. Hold out to get that price, it is a great set.

The reception for this set was bad because, in a box, you might get a patch. For me, it was tough to toss down that much money for a maybe. I bought enough loose packs to buy 2 boxes without getting a patch and I finally broke down and bought a box and pulled an Ivanans 3 color. These boxes are still going for a good penny since the RC class is so good.
