Lafreniere young guns question

Not much of a sample size, but both times (sealed box, then 4 loose packs) I pulled the Alexander Alexeyev young guns with my Lafreniere.

I’ve noticed that he seems to be Kaut from COL but it isn’t a guarantee. Seems to be much more random this year.

Kaut and Bellows tend to be the ones to look for.

Watch box breaks and there are clues. Kaut is probably more than 50% the pair to get a Laff YG. I hot 2 boxes, Laff was with Kaut in the 1st, the Bellows was in the 2nd box without Laff.
Might be tied to the first run productions, with the Kaut matchup.

I didn’t get either of those ones in my Lafreniere box.

I’ve heard Kaut and Carlsson are the ones most common. I unfortunately have not pulled him so I have no first hand knowledge. The few group breaks I’ve been in Kaut has been with him.

Late last year Upper Deck made a decision to randomize the young guns for the exact reason you mentioned, you could tell what boxes had what young guns if you watched enough breaks. UD did not announce the change to the hobby when I inquired about a 2018-19 case missing four young guns and of the four two were the biggest hits.
So for this year it should be random. There may be a pattern of the random, can't say. I opened a sealed case that did not contain a Alexis Young Guns. Not happy about that but it confirmed to me that it was random and again UD did not announce the change.
When I asked why not announce the change UD told me there was only 11 collectors that had contacted them about not getting a full set of young guns in a sealed case so they said we will let the hobby figure it out.
Just as UD was releasing 2020-21 I asked again would the Young Guns be random and was told yes, it would be, no set pattern and no "guarantee" of a full set of YG's in a case.
