I love those Murphys - he was one of my favorites as a kid (since the only non Red Sox games I saw were the TBS games). He should definitely be in the Hall of Fame...

I have always thought Topps makes some of the best Autographed cards out there. Those Donruss are pretty cool as well

Great stuff, thanks for sharing! I too loved Dale Murphy as a player - class act on and off the field. I still wish he had just one more career HR, as that near miss with the 400 club probably makes it more difficult than it should be for him to get into the HOF...

Thanks for the comments, guys. Of course, I agree that Murph should be in Cooperstown. Yes, falling short of 400 HR's certainly is a stumbling block. However, he won back-to-back MVP's, played catcher before switching to outfield, and was one of the classiest ambassadors of the game. Naturally, putting up huge offensive numbers (compared to today's game) was not easy to do in the late 70's and early 80's. I believe that he will eventually get in... even if it takes the veterans' committee to do so.

noice mailday, personally was never a huge fan of Murphy and to this point I doubt I will add an auto of his to my collection but I am really digging that Spahn. I have quite a few of him. Congrats on the pickups

Wow! I never met a Braves fan who didn't like Dale Murphy. I guess to each his/her own, but that is surprising.

That Spahn is actually an extra if you have something similar for trade.

Not so much that I do not like Murphy...just he got caught in between Braves eras. I was a fan right after his career ended and I really like the Mil Braves teams so he is more a product of elimination lol and ill shoot ya a pm about that Spahn
