Happy Boxing Day to everyone, y'alls ten pounds heavier today? Looking goooooood, people!! Me? I'm my usual happy-go-lucky self, thanks for asking, but I've got the next EIGHT days off from work, which means I've got all the time in the world to share my tiny little story about a re-pack box from Hell. So here we go..............!!
Just in time for Christmas, look at what pops up on the shelves at Wal-Mart, all shiny and new......... why it's the Upper Deck Mystery Box!! NINE assorted packs, including at least one hobby pack, PLUS a rookie card, PLUS a mystery card!!!! $44.95 plus tax.

Now pay attention to the highlighted words, they'll be important in a bit.....

So I bought a box.......... six assorted UD1 & UD2 packs and one Parkhurst, and two hobby packs - one Leafs Centennial & one Team Canada Juniors. Now I know that no one has any control over what's gonna be in the packs, you get what you get. This is what I got..........

That left me with my two guaranteed hits, the rookie card and the mystery card, which I guess turned out to be the "rare insert"....... Can anyone tell me which is which????

That was a trick question, neither of them are actually a rookie card or rare insert.
Basically, $45 down the crapper. Now, they're not ALL like this. Derek the Red got a Brad Marchand Day With the Cup as one of his hits and pulled a McDavid YG from one of the packs, and another guy on Twitter told me he pulled a Eichel YG fro one of his packs, so anything is possible in this modern world of technological wonders, right? In any case, 45 bucks isn't the end of the world and it taught me not to trust the Upper Deck logo over a no-name re-pack box..............
Then I got a box from my Secret Santa at work...............

Again, which is the "rare insert" and which is the rookie card????
And then last night at the in-laws Christmas dinner I got a third box, even tho I didn't ask anyone for cards this year ay yaaaaa.

In theory, that auto/patch guy I've never heard of will actually almost pay for the original box, so how can I be mad right??
And of course.......

WHICH IS THE "RARE INSERT" AND WHICH IS THE ROOKIE CARD?????
I'd ask Upper Deck but turns out they're not responsible for this hot mess. Look at the bootom of the box and ta-daaaaaaaaa.........

From their website.......... "MJ Holding prides itself on the successful relationships forged with world renowned brands." Still, Upper Deck's name is all over that box and they're who I'm holding the grudge against
Hey, looka that, I've STILL got eight days off :bliss::bliss::bliss::bliss:
