Mike Richards talking about respect....is he taking a page out of Milan Lucic's book now. That's twice in a week that "so-called" classy players have called out the Habs young budding superstar rookie PK Subban.

Is there no allowance for exuberance and just all around fun in the game anymore. PK Subban plays with an edge, but he has always played like that and that's what makes him a future Norris candidate.

Guys like Richards run their mouth about respect after what he did to David Booth, or about the rumor with Carter sleeping with his girlfriend (or vice versa) or about his spat with Pronger last year. I guess Pronger is classy compared to PK, especially when he's stomping on people with his skates....

Looking for people's opinion on this situation....was Richards correct in calling out the "disrespectful" PK???? Let's not make this a flame war....

I really hope they do fight on Monday, can't wait for that game. And the singer in Philly is pretty hot for a cougar....

If I recall, when Booth played Richards next, Richards obliged Booth and dropped the gloves with him as a show of respect. He didn't pansy away and let someone else fight his battles. PK just yaps all day long, starts stuff then runs away like he did in all the scrums last night. He's going to get his. Last time Richie called someone out it was Matt Cooke. The next time they played Richie dropped the gloves with him and put his fists were Cooke's mouth was.

Let's see if PK is willing to shut his trap and drop the gloves when they play on Monday.

Okay, where was the "respect" when he blindsided him? Mighty nice of him to oblige him to a fight after he cowardly suckered him.

Not sure what game you were watching last night. PK didn't shy away from any of the MANY Flyers that were targeting him. Richards and the rest of them are just whining because Price stood on his head. Richards is the last one to talk about respect in the game. What a joke!!!

So Richards can run his mouth and injure people but it's okay as long as he fights a couple times? I got it.

What happened exactly? and for those of you calling out Richards you will be hard pressed to find a better role model on and off the ice...sure he crushed Booth last season but it was a clean shoulder hit by league standards at the time. I notice also that the only people bad mouthing him and defending PK are people with Montreal avatars or signatures so I will take your comments with a grain of salt until I know what exactly caused this thread.

Firstly...the rumor was Carter slept with Hartnell's wife.
Also, I'm not sure what Pronger's past incidents have to do exactly with Richards and Subban.
Also, the hit on Booth was a hard, but at the time, legal hit. And instead of leaving it at that, Richards allowed Booth to have a go with him if he wanted. Didn't have to.
Richards doesn't usually "run his mouth." In fact, it's pretty hard to get anything good out of him in an interview. But maybe when 2 players do it in a week, and the player's only played 20 regular season game, it's the player who's getting calle dout, not the players who are doing the calling out.
Lastly, Mike Richards is not what I'd call classy. I've never said he was; neither was Bobby Clarke.

Ok, this whole thing with PK started since his NHL debut was against the Flyers. He was yapping, crying at a ref about a call against him. Then when the Flyers faced MTL in MTL toward the end of the regular season, Pronger almost destroyed him on the boards, luckly PK moved out of the way. PK and the Flyers put aside the BS during the playoffs. I dont know what happened between Richards and PK last night (because my wife took the remote from me :|) but PK likes to attempt to get under the Flyers skin with his play or his mouth.

Richards backs down from no one and is not afraid to fight anybody.

Well said. Guys that yap and play with an edge should back it up by dropping the gloves every now and then. See Grossman last night versus Parros. Parros said he respected Grossman for standing up to him. Same would apply to PK if he dropped the gloves every now and then too.

But he's a Hab... what do you expect?

P.K.'s got no problem dropping the gloves. Did it twice last year in the AHL and has 5 in two OHL seasons. He will when the need arises. If that means next Monday, so be it. But that's just me letting facts get in the way of a Capitals fan still smarting from last spring when his team just wasn't good enough.

Anyways, the idea that Mike Richards is calling out people regarding respect in the game is laughable. Next thing you know Colin Campbell will be talking to the media about ethics in refereeing.

P.K. said it best when asked about the whole kerfuffle:

“I just go out there and play hard and respect the players,” added Subban. “I don’t go out there and try and hurt anybody. I just play the game.”

Suck It Up Richards, Class? Pft!

The Flyers lose a game and their Leader starts whining about PK.

The Flyers should be thank their lucky stars that PK and the Habs took it easy on them.

Maybe Mtl will play Auld on Monday, give the Flyers a chance:devil:

All in good fun. Made for media and free clicks.

What happened to just taking a number and dishing out your frustrations on the player in the game? Richards should just blast him with a nice clean hit to show his appreciation for the guy. I've never liked players who yapped on the ice, nor do I respect the yapping off of it. Guys like Corey Perry (I won't speak for Subban yet because I personally haven't seen enough of him to categorize him as such) earn every single cheap shot they get. Richards and Subban should both shut up, drop the gloves and the loser should shut his mouth and go back to playing hockey.

Amen to that ....

Subban was more than willing to drop the gloves. As for his yapping; after every whistle he has 1 or 2 guys in his face yapping, so he yaps back. What's the big deal? He's not allowed to stick up for himself because he's a rookie?

Richards is a clown. Good player, but not a guy who should be talking about respect.
