As some of you already know, the 2020 NSCC in Atlantic City has been "postponed". Tentatively, they are looking at Dec 12-16 to hold the show still in AC. The announcement of the postponement and/or out right cancellation was just a formality. No way people are going to be ready/willing to attend an inside convention packed with people in a poorly ventilated convention hall any time soon. Hopefully, as the new date approaches, things will be better. Even so, getting people to travel and attend a large show will be difficult and unsafe unless there is significant improvement in the Covid-19 situation. As much as it is disheartening, I can see all indoor shows in 2020 being out right cancelled to ensure public safety to the greatest extent.

As an aside, December in Atlantic City? I can't think of too many other places I would want to visit less in December than AC... although I suppose traffic and room rates would be good that time of year.

I would venture to guess that might be the most poorly attended National ever if it is a go. AC is nasty and that time of year when people want to be home with their families and are putting discretionary funds into gifts. Plus, that's right in the middle of flu season AND potential relapse of this virus. EPIC fail for the show.

Agree with Barrie on this one. The organizers of the National are dreaming in technicolor if they think that's viable.

awwww c'mon guys!where else can you go for the wholesome hobby of sports card collecting and get solicited for every known vice to mankind by just walking three feet outside of the Convention Center? i live about an hour from AC and i haven't been there in over 20 years.its the kind of place where you go to gamble and nothing more.i prefer my gambling in the form of wax boxes.

seriously though, the original dates would have been fine in the respect that the area is insanely crowded with tourism and would attract alot of foot traffic for the show. However now that its being pushed that deep into the year, they would be better suited to look for a venue in the north Jersey region by NYC.the most crowded place on Earth, especially during the holidays.Either way i'll be attending my first National in forever.

Hold off till late January 2021 and move the venue to Vegas or Orlando!

I don't think either of those would be "safe" spots with all the international tourists and such, especially in light of the current pandemic and it's spread worldwide.

Vegas will probably NEVER happen for a National, for reasons that are obvious I think. Haha

Only proposed as an alternative since Upper Deck has their Diamond Club Dealers' conference in those cities at that time of year.

Gotcha. But UD is so small in the scheme of the National overall, and they don't want to detract from their agenda with those events to compete with the show itself.

You need to remember UD is basically hockey cards, and that is an absolute sliver of the trading card and collectibles market as a whole. I don't even think giants like Topps or Panini would want to have competing schedules with the National. Just my thoughts?

October would probably have been better but availability could have dictated the date.

Had planned a few Vacation days to take it all in. Even though it is only 1 hour from me probably will not go in December.

As posted above will need the extra cash for Holiday Presents.
