Watching hot stove they were talking about making the over the board penalty on a power play attached to the previous penalty time instead of a two man advantage. They were talking about any penalty with two minutes left in a game be carried over to next game. There was a couple more I can't remember. I do think they need to review the over the board, closing hand on puck, face offs, and icings in off season. I also like the idea that diving be reviewed after the game instead of in game as this year has been bad for missed dives but also calls for diving that weren't. You get a stick in. the face and you snap your head back and you go to the box too is not fair. I also think it's way past time for coachs challenge. Your thoughts.

I don't agree with carrying over penalties to the next game. Why should a 3rd team benefit from infractions that took place against another team? It will just make the last 2 minutes of a close game way too careful & boring.

I wouldn't totally be against it. But the only way they could do it is if they did it for the playoffs only, and only within a single series. But that'd just open up a whole new bag of worms, and different rules for the playoffs, etc. Just better to leave things as is.

I can get on board with that

I'd love to see them revamp icing, both in general situations and on the penalty kill.

I've heard rumors where they plan to change the even-strength icing for next season, but won't believe it until it happens. I also want to see how any change affects the game during the final shifts of a period or game. Icing with 20 seconds left burns 5 seconds off the clock when time is more important than face-off zone.

On the penalty kill, I've come to agree with an opinion I read a while back... Why should violation of one rule allow you to violate another? If icing is illegal at even strength, it should not become legal just because you are down a man due to a 'rules' violation. This would really intensify power-plays and probably up scoring.

I always wondered about icing on power play too. Be like soccer and serve full 2 minute down but get rid of half the ticky tack penaltys they call these day. Miss the 80's Norris division play offs

I may be the only person in the world who agrees with the over the glass penalty - the only change I see is giving the officials the opportunity to make a judgement call on intentional shots into the players benches. You don't want a penalty, keep the puck down. They're professionals, they can handle it.

As far as penalties go - I have no problem with them taking away the opportunity to ice the puck from the defending team and I have no problem with them saying a 2min penalty is a 2min penalty, go get five goals if you can. It really hasn't been that long since the latter rule was changed due to the Montreal powerplay.

No touch icing should be introduced immediately - it's time.

First thing they should - do call the rules as they exist and quit telling the refs to manage the game to make it more exciting. Penalty in the first period should be a penalty in the third period or OT.

I would like to see them revamp the icing for even strength play, and yes, penalize icing on the power play. What other sport penalizes a team then gives them an advantage to go along with the penalty? How dumb is that? Of course, that will only increase power play scoring - the NHL needs to figure out how to better the product to allow for more scoring opportunities at even strength.

First thing they should - do call the rules as they exist. Penalty in the first period of the first game of the season should be a penalty in the third period of game 82 or in OT of Game 7 of any playoff series.

Had to modify it a bit, Cory.

what about a game cannot end with a player in the penalty box serving a minor or major , whatever time is left on the penalty is the remaining time left in the 3rd period or overtime in each game, will be played out
