Hey everyone.

It's me shining a little light into your lives with a Show and Tell

Hope you don't overlook this thread.

Next week marks the 40th anniversary of the release of the movie referenced. That's a long time to be cooped up so hopefully we will all survive our own isolation.

Just back to work after being off since late March, so I picked up a "few" things

Here are my additions for the last while.

Whalers PC:

Lots of time on my hands lately so wanted to expand the ole Whalers collections

Picked up some 90s stuff especially some O-Dog.

1995 Whalers Score Black Ice by Ironman Indy, on Flickr

1995 O'Neill Whalers by Ironman Indy, on Flickr

1996 O'Neill Whalers by Ironman Indy, on Flickr

1994 Verbeek Score Check It / 1995 O'Neill Zenith RRC

1996 Shanahan Donruss HL /10000 / 1996 Shanahan SPx Gold

The Whalers are back, in POG form!

one set arrived in a POG ultra pro sheet - didn't know these existed!!

2002 Howe UD Found SE /1250 / 2011 Ferraro CR STS AU

I think it's interesting that Ferraro is pictured as a Whaler and the card says Whalers but they put in the Blues logo on the ice area. Ray even signed it with 13, his number in St. Louis, as opposed to his 26 in Hartford

Stoughton

One of my favourite "original" Hartford Whalers and former Leaf.
The man had 56 goals to lead the league in 1980 and had 100 points plus another year with 50+ goals.

I've expanded my Whalers only Stoughtons to include his other issues
Never had a RC so I picked one up

1974 Stoughton OPC RC

1983 Stoughton Funmate Puffy

More Blaines on the way

Sanderson

2005 Sanderson Artifacts Blue /75

Just read an article that his son Jake is a highly touted prospect. Be nice to see another Sanderson in the league, hopefully in Carolina.

** Info that only I would care about - Geoff is named after me and his son is named after my son - coincidence? No.

** Info you may find interesting. Geoff was the first player from Northwest Territories to play in NHL and his son will be the first from Montana. How cool is that?

Vachon

2008 Vachon MP BS Brown AU

Great set, great hard signed autos

Larmer

2018 Larmer Chrono Canvas AU

Masterpieces are back, in Chronology form!

Gartner

1997 Gartner CR Ice Blue

2013 Gartner Art TT Dual /36

Francis

1999 Francis UD MVP Super Script /25

So tough to find Super Scripts - glad to add this beauty

Burke

2003 Burke Pac Prism Patch 40

I almost did an overlook on this card (ha) as I knew I had the reg version and since the patch is plain didn't give it any thought. Then I realized it is the patch version and gobbled it up.

Finally a card I thought I'd never see.

I assumed it existed even though I had never seen a copy.

There is a silver version out /20 I still haven't seen.

This is even tougher. The gold version, print run of 5!

It's a yuuuge addition or should I say USED

2003 Burke ITG SS Gold AU PHI /5

Regular gold in the set are out of 70 but if you were traded that year and got a second card you were out of 5 (Francis is also in this camp - need the Leafs!) Kovalev, Gonchar, Salo etc are /5 with their new team

I have the Burkes with PHX but the PHI versions just haven't surfaced.

Anyway that's it kids.

Some of you have already seen some of these cards if you are on Instagram. I recently joined
@ironmanindy if you partake of the 'gram

Cheers and stay safe

First off, great to see a former leaf in your collection and nice to see that huge Burke auto you picked up . The star of the show is that pack of Jostens stickers. I remember buying them and sticking them everywhere. The Brad Park sticks out

Congrats on mail Geoff

A Shining reference, a Simpsons reference, and some sweet cards! Very nice mail post. If that Burke Prism patch had been multi-coloured you would have had some steep competition for it. I'm a sucker for those weirdly low-numbered Pacific patches.

That Burke Gold auto /5 is a MASSIVE pickup for your collection. I didn't know they had a Traded-To Gold variation /5 so this was very educational.

So amazing. Well done.

Dig the 03-04 stuff! Guessing you got the ITGU auto from everyone's favorite old-school ITG seller...he's been dumping a TON of ITGU SS gold autos lately.

Those Zenith Rookie Roll Calls are some of the most awesome rookie cards ever made...could you imagine if they made those with a patch/auto now?? omg

Great pickups as always! Love the story behind that Burke Gold auto /5. It's always neat to hear little hobby quirks like that. Thanks for sharing!

You should start a POG collection. Make sure to get some ALF in there as well tho.

Great show as usual. Love the Burke Used.
