Hey Everyone,

Recently, during one of my research sessions online, I was looking up a player who has no NHL cards-Dan Hodgson. I knew he had cards out there somewhere but nothing that was NHL licensed. Anyway, during this process I found out that he was from my hometown but moved away to Fort McMurray as a child. I remember my brothers saying there was an NHL player from our hometown but, I never bought it. After I had found out that he was actually from my hometown I asked my dad if he knew anything about this guy. Well, after a conversation with my dad, I found out that he is my cousin! Dan Hodgson's mom and my dad are first cousins. Dan spent four seasons between the NHL and the AHL and I guess he never played long enough in one season to get a hockey card. Luckily, I've dug one up on eBay and it was in the form of a Panini sticker. Although it isn't a rookie card, this will sit in my collection until I can find one of his Prince Albert Raiders WHL cards.

Oh yeah, did I mention he won a World Junior gold medal with team Canada in 1985 and also won a Memorial Cup the same season? Pretty cool, huh?

I picked this George Armstrong card up off of eBay and thought I got it for a pretty fair price ($5.00)! I never heard of nor seen these cards before and thought it was pretty cool! It's about the size of a Beehive card.

I have a hoard of Reggie Leach rookie cards in my collection and have slowly been picking up some of his other base cards from the 70s. This one is in beautiful condition.

I had one of these already but couldn't turn down two more for 50 cents at the Northgate Mall Card Show last month.

As I mentioned in a previous post, I had a number of people reach out to me regarding my rookie card collection. A man from the same community (Hazleton, BC) reached out to me to let me know that the following player was a member of the Gitxsan First Nation. Brandon had a short career in the NHL playing 33 games and also had 13 seasons in the AHL before going to the DEL for three more.

Great pickups yet again Naim. My favourite is definitely that Reg Leach. I love the red borders. Sharp looking cards. Cool backstories on the players in your threads as well.

I'll make it a 'Trifecta', the Leach is a nice catch. :cheer:

Thanks for the peek and congrats.

Love it, man! That story about Dan Hodgson is epic. I know it's a hard thing to do, but if there was a way to make this into a book with anecdotes about each player and a photo of the card, that would be quite the thing. I'd definitely buy a copy!

I can't believe you had a cousin that played and didn't know it. Very cool and impressive story, especially the Gold medal and Memorial Cup victories. I actually love those Toronto Star cards. I only have the Howe, but it is one of my favorite vintage oddballs.

Nice job with these pickups. Thanks for sharing !

Thank you! I love getting new cards for the PC! They're really the only cards I've picked up lately. No packs or picking up singles for transactions. I like that a lot better.

I know! I think there's some disconnect in my family there because Fort McMurray is quite a ways away, they moved away in the 1960s, and nobody really kept in touch. Which is too bad. Not because he's an NHL player but, it's just too bad when family doesn't keep in touch. Also, I was really quite pleased when I picked that one up. Such a cool card!

Awesome new additions to your aboriginal PC.
These S&Ts are always a great read!

Thank you, very much!
