Official thread: NHL players that are placed on waivers

Sooooo Flames buy out Kotalik and the Jokinen trade winds up being....

- Matthew Lombardi
- Brandon Prust
- Jim Vandermeer (minimal impact)
- 1 round Draft Pick (wound up being 13th overall, Gormley)
- $1,500,000 cap hit for the next 4 years

...in exchange for.....nothing? And how is it that Sutter still has a job, exactly?

Maybe I'm the only one, but I wouldn't mind seeing Cheechoo get a shot on the Flyers for $1M or under. Hopefully he can get his game back after those hernia surgeries and get his scoring touch back. He's still got the hands even if he's lost a step. Still a hard worker also.

He'd be a good fit in Philly.

Cheecho was buried in the AHL Senators farm club. Did not do much in that league either I believe. Two bad knees is tough though.

Flyers fans are a little curious about him. If he comes in for a try out and makes the team by camp is over, it could be a steal like Betts did.

But isnt Cheecho on waivers meaning that some team will have to pay 50% of his contract? How much does he has left on his deal.

I believe it only counts against a % of the cap if another team selects a player on re-entry waivers.

I was kind of hoping M-A Pouliot was going to rebound, but he obviously has overstayed his welcome. I'm not sure why the Oil chose Jacques over Potulny, but I'm pretty sure his strong play at the beginning of the season prior to injury, solidified him being qualified...but this is likely his last chance.

If Kotalik could be had for cheaper, I would be quite happy with the Oil re-acquiring him.

Should be an interesting summer!

What happened to cheechoo?

He ran out of Joe Thorntons...

I hope the Coyotes guys hit the minors and stay there. The less PC movement I have to do the better. Well I don't care about Vandermeer, I've spent more on Nokelainen.
