Ahhh, Labor Day. The time when one's mind turns to the fancy of new electronic consumer devices...
I'm in a bit of a quandry and could use the help of a few "techno-geeks", if possible. And I mean that in the nicest possible way...
I was recently given carte blanche to select a new pc for my office and I was thinking about going back to the laptop setting so I could take it on the road with me, which seems to be quite frequently. Thus far, I have been getting by with my Treo 650 for handling corporate e-mail, and very basic Word and Excel functions. This has been fine, but I recently had to bang out a short memo on Word, and, well that experiment blew big time. I'd rather not go the full laptop route, as they are still heavy to carry and can be akward to use on an airplane, so I was told to look at the Sony UX 180 micro pc. Has anyone had any experiences with this device? Reviews on the web have been pretty solid, but I am yet to read anything all that compelling from folks who actually OWN the device, not just using it for a few days for the review.
Also, I haven't had a functionaly VHS player for years, but I still have some choice shows recorded on VHS (hello E-Z Streets!) that I would love to become reaquainted with. Does anyone have some advice on a decent mid-level dvd r+w combo with VHS player? I have seen a couple at Best Buy - like the LG model that has one touch dubbing from VHS to DVD - but I am not certain which one will serve me best.
Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks for the read!
