Two weeks late with the post again, but I've been living away from home and closer to work with some friends during the week, so it's a little tougher to stay on top of it. Not a lot for the RC and PC collections this month, but had a new player to start chasing, so that's always fun. Huge shout-out to Norm (trekrun) on these. The Lemieux and Tanguay came from him in a purchase I first inquired about over 4 years ago. He never pressured me on them, and was happy to sell them now that I could afford them more easily. There's a couple more towards the end of the post if you're wondering why I couldn't afford a couple parallels. :laugh: Also, the Brodeur came from Scott (NORD). Thanks guys!

And we start off with a doozy! These Topps/OPC /100 are the devil to find, and this is the scarcer of the two in my experience. Only have it for one of my other PCs, and it happens to be one of three Deadmarsh cards I need. So on cloud nine to land this one only a year or so into really collecting Skratch.

Thomas is in the minors, and will probably never be an Av, but whatever, it was cheap. The Elliott is pretty awesome though, and brings me ever closer to knocking that bad memory off my wantlist.

I've been very impressed with Mr. Mitchell this year, he's been able to rack up I think 8 goals already. Even though he's a Center too, he's been getting some time on O'Reilly's wing since his return. Now if only they'd put Landy back with Ryan, they'd be my favorite line again. Anyway... the SPGU came from Cyril (cmcdonald1) in an easy purchase. Along with a 12-13 Artifacts redemption that's not shown for obvious reasons.

My only 12-13 pickup for this month, a Red of Tyson Barrie. These Certified parallels still aren't popping up much, and especially Barrie is selling through the roof IMO. Must be the Team Canada thing. Oh well, at least I have the base, Red and Blue for him and Connolly now.

Another, the Contenders AU, from AMSfan. Getting the theme here yet? Also, a couple nice Certified variations, which almost don't even look different in the scans. The nice fat seam gives it away anyway though.

Well, since it would be hard to have 3.14 stars, time for the 5 stars of the post. If I tried harder, maybe I could have made 22 stars in 7 levels, since 22/7 is a closer approximation than 3.14, but whatever. I've got to get back to work at some point. Wasn't too tough to narrow them down this week, although the Skratch OPC /100 for the PC was probably worthy.

2005-06 Beehive Sidney Crosby - RC, Blue, Beige
The base RC and the Beige are the two I was referring to from Norm (trekrun) above. Just a great guy to deal with, and finally jump started me back into finally finishing this set. And with the cards above and these, I did just that, finish the base RCs, the Reds, the Blues, and the Beiges. It's really one of my favorite sets. I've love parallels anyway, but these are cool because of the different pictures on each of the cards. Head shot on the reds, full body on the Blues, and upper body on the Beiges. My OCD likes symmetry like that. My non-OCD self also likes that it's a skip numbered set (for the first 50 anyway). I won't bore you with the whole set in this post, but feel free to check it out on my site here. I think they look pretty snazzy all together like this.

2012-13 Black Diamond All-Time Greats Championship Rings - Roy, Sakic, Bourque, Drury, Hejduk, Tanguay
When I saw that they made six of these, I knew I had to have them. It was made easier when Paul (pwag) gave me the Sakic. A deal with nhlderek for the Bourque, and some eBay scavenging, and I'm done. They're just gorgeous in person. My next project like this might have to be the Limited Award Winners and auto'd variations. Haven't made any progress yet, but as I've noted, just need a good reason to start.

2007-08 Upper Deck High Gloss /10 Daniel Winnik
Here's the biggy from Brian I mentioned before. I started scanning his bucket and was amazed at all the HG YGs he had acquired. My jaw dropped when I saw this, since I technically need two, one for the RC collection and one for the PC. Brian was super easy to deal with though, swapping me for another HG I had an extra of. This actually finishes off Winnik's RC year for me, something I've been trying to do for awhile. Still need second copies of 3 other RC issues for the PC, along with a 11-12 Score Black. On a side note, he looks freakishly tall in the picture to me...

2011-12 Panini Rookie Anthology National Treasures /99 Gabe Landeskog
Only one Landy addition this month but it's a pretty one. Actually four colors up top, especially if you hold it at an angle a little bit. Kinda on the fence about the stray thread, but I'm gonna leave it for now. This gets me down to just needing the Luxury Suite /99 and Cup /99. The Luxury Suite might come home soon, but the Cup will have to wait if the prices stay at 3x what I paid for my Dominion /99, which I think is a better looking card.
Well, on that note, see you next month. Hopefully with some more Palushaj and maybe another Landy or two.
