1 year deal, never been a fan but as a #6 d-man I can't complain. He's a bit more grit on the back end the Wings lacked and I don't like his mindless penalties but overall he'll be better than what we had last season.

Very true, it was only for $750,000 one season and it's probably going to turn out better than Lilja.

He is still a good #6. The problem was a numbers game last year with the Avs. They had Ryan Wilson and Kyle Cumiskey last year and with Clark and Salei becoming UFA they wanted to make sure that Wilson and Cumiskey were ready to step in full time.
