Hey everyone,
So my brother-in-law, who I had been shipping stuff to the States with, is moving back to Canada. Since I am now without a US address, I have been looking into shipping services. For those of you that have used one, can I please get a first hand rundown on each of them, such as:

-Process
-Reliability
-Cost to bring in/cost to ship out
-Is there a difference between raw cards/slabs
-Do they accept larger items like graded comics
-Are there other good services besides the 2 I listed

I've gone through the FAQs, but it would still be helpful to get a firsthand account on how they work.

Thank you!

I use gisi and it’s amazing. I know the owner and he is solid if that helps

I use SMC and find it a great service. Brian is always quick to respond to any questions. They have 2 different fees ($5 vs $2) and locations you can ship to, varying by if you need to save tax (like eBay, auction houses), or just a facebook or friend transaction. I am pretty sure they take larger items but I would always double check before sending anything really large like cases. You let them know when you want your items shipped and select your own value and service. I definitely recommend checking them out.

The nice thing from what I've read is they're flexible with any size of item. And there's no fee per incoming card correct? Just the subscription charge depending on the level?

One of the things that attracted me to SMC is the Portland lack of a sales tax. Do I need to have money/store credit in my account prior to having something sent there?

And I guess for both of you, how are they with high end cards? Any nerves with sending high dollar stuff to either? I don't buy volumes of cards/comics, only PC stuff really so I don't imagine I will be having huge lots stored. So I'm wondering what will be more economically viable. When do you guys typically ship back to you?

Thanks for the help so far!

I have only used GISI and have nothing but good things to say about them. Highly recommend them and the owner Tim Corriveau is a great dude.

It is preferred, but you do not need a balance to send there. They will just put you in the negative for the time being. I only use smc for pc items like you indicated, so there are no issues with high end cards. I always ship any pwcc wins there and it saves me quite a bit. I usually ship home once or twice a year, often during the slower summer time.
