I struck a deal with someone off eBay. We agreed on a price and he paid me. I noticed that he's paying from an unconfirmed address though. What does this mean exactly?

The sale was for about $200. I was intending on sending it registered to Canada. Am I still safe with the tracking if he claims non-receipt or does that uncinformed address mean i'm not protected?

thanks

All Paypal says is

"When a Confirmed Address isn’t available, it’s always a good idea to take extra steps to ensure that you are shipping the item to the PayPal account holder. You may consider contacting the buyer to confirm their purchase and validate their shipping address"

I think an unconfirmed address is when the name and mailing address hasn't been confirmed to match with the name and address of the bank account or the address of the CC on paypal. Usually, it doesn't take long to confirm the address, only a few days.

So it could be some kid that is buying stuff on their parent's PP or CC, or someone using another person's PP. Or it could be that they're lazy and don't buy much stuff on PP.

I would email the PP account holder to get confirmation that payment is authorized. That way if they make a claim that their PP has been "hacked" or used without their permission, you have proof that they authorized the payment to be made.

Personally, I would only ship to confirmed addresses. Some people may want to have stuff shipped to their work address or to a PO address in the US to save on shipping if they (assuming Canadians) live close to the US border. Or to a relative's home, and they bring it across the border for them. But unless they tell you that is the situation, I'd be a bit cautious.

well the eBayer has 3000+ feedback with 4 negs (for selling faulty electronics). So I doubt it's a kid buying stuff with his parents card or inexperienced buyer/seller.

Just wanted to know what my risks are. I am sending registered to the address provided to me by Paypal.
