Hi, can anyone reccomend some good hobby shops/stores in the Vancouver and Victoria area? Ideally with a good selection of hockey/singles. Thank you in advance!

Wally’s Sports Cards
2646 E Hastings Street, Vancouver, BC V5K 1Z6

Great guy to deal with, has a lot of sealed boxes and not too much singles...

Huge store with a ton of singles and huge selection of supplys!

Hope that helps a little bit. In Victoria I was not able to find a shop..but there has to be one?!

I haven't been to Victoria in over five years but I do know that they went several years with no store. However, I have been told they now have one on Wharf Street called Triple Pay. If you head up island at all there are a couple of shops in Nanaimo.

Are these really the one two places in Vancouver when it comes to wax?? Even places like Surrey will work. My google searches have yielded some results, it's just hard to tell who really has what.

Wiser's Collectibles in Langley:
9640 201 St b2, Langley, BC V1M 3E8

I go here for much of my box/case buying. They also have a bunch of boxes of singles to look through.

Pastimes (3 locations):
20378 Fraser Hwy, Langley, BC V3A 4G1
Unit 712 10153 King George Blvd Surrey, BC V3T 2W1 (Surrey Central Mall)
5000 Canoe Pass Way, Tsawwassen, BC V4M 0B3 (Tsawwassen Mills Mall)

Best selection for wax. Langley store is the best.

Comics Scene:
8912 152 St, Surrey, BC V3R 4E4

Small selection of wax.

Wally's Pro Sports Cards:
2646 E Hastings St, Vancouver, BC V5K 1Z6

Decent selection of wax. Some singles.

Tasmanian comics also has wax.

I think Wally's aka Pro Sports is the last dedicated sports card store in Vancouver proper. I get my preorders and supplies there. Unfortunately the real estate market in Vancouver is not conducive to LCSs.

If you are willing to go outside of Vancouver there is Past time Collectibles. I'm not sure if Zephyr Epic has a retail store, but they definitely have the best prices. I've ordered from them before. Not a huge selection though.

I've always wanted to check out Great Canadian Sports Card Company in Port Moody. Anyone know if it's worth the drive?

I love Taz Comics and it has been my comic shop of choice for the last 15 years and it was the store I first started collecting comics 30 years ago but Keith doesn't carry much in the way of wax compared to Wally's which is just 8(?) blocks down the road.

Also, is Great Canadian even still open? If it is, I'd say it's worth stopping by if you're in the neighbourhood (going to Rocky Point or something) but I've never found it worth a special trip by itself and I find the pricing to be bordering on insulting but maybe that's been updated.

Thanks for the info!

So pricing and selection wise Wally's and Pastime are the best options in the GVRD?

If you are on the island and near Nanaimo stop at Sports Card Alley, don't remember the address. Its run by Bill or Wild Bill as some call him, good store and great person to deal with. I was there like 9 years ago so not sure if its still open.
Cheers.
Dan.

Great Canadian is still open... some how, 100% agree with you on the pricing, utterly horrible. I think, it was the only place I have walked into and right back out without buying a single pack.

There is a place in Port Coquitlam Called, Mostly Music on Shaughnessy Street, they sell Boxes. quite a bit of variety and the owners are usually able to work out a decent price with the buyer, depending on the box... older stuff they are willing to move quicker are usually able to drop the price by a few bucks. They also have a huge variety of other items there EG: Music, Games, Movies, Game Cards(Magic, Pokemon etc), very cluttered store but lots of inventory.

in Finland there are no shops anymore but in your house cellars exists plus trading day and card show. Some top sellers here are selling cards at home or somewhere in a warehouse. It´s more affordable for sellers so I believe you´ve got hundreds sellers at home. Need to info each other.
