Back to racing at Phoenix International Raceway. Well still have five more days.

Phoenix International Raceway
In 1964, when Phoenix International Raceway was carved out of the foothills of the Estrella Mountains, it was intended to be a new jewel in the crown of American open wheel racing.

Drivers like Mario Andretti, A.J. Foyt, Parnelli Jones and the Unsers soon came to love the one mile paved oval with the unique bend in the backstretch. And they really loved coming to Phoenix, where the tourism industry was just starting to grow and its western style hospitality was second to none.

But it wasn't until 1988, when NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series racing came to PIR, that auto racing in Phoenix really became a major sporting attraction for the "Valley of the Sun." New racing legends and legends-in-the-making like Davey Allison, Richard Petty, Dale Earnhardt, Rusty Wallace and the rest of the Cup stars found out firsthand what their champ-car brethren had known for years: Phoenix International Raceway is truly a great place to race, both for the drivers and especially the fans.

Today, Phoenix International Raceway has a tradition that is unmatched in the world of racing. The Indycars have made 58 visits to PIR, and the annual Fall NASCAR weekend -- including Cup, Busch, Craftsman Trucks and Featherlite Southwest Series races -- is one of the biggest events in the entire state.

is A. J. Foyt still racing? hehehehehe I will take Benny Parsons to win this week. hehehehe I keep scratching my head as to why drivers don't take out Tony Stewart each week. I like Tony but he sure does like to bang, if he was a basketball player he would be fouled out in the first half....

Saturday night you say?

I think I'm working saturday night, but, I'll try and have the race up, no matter how much the hockey guys don't like it, if there's a spare tv, nascar for me :D

Starting order.

Great race. Glad to see a race finish without a caution.

Did not do so well with the drivers I pick. I think I got around 560.

the awesome train just keeps rolling,

I forgot about the race, and then saw about 50 laps while at work,
and missed the end,
Jr wrecked or something while I was "watching"

have to catch a replay.

Did not see the race, I just got home right now, but looks like a decent week at 727 for me, based on the standings Josh had up. Hopefully the race is recast this week.

when do points show up Josh? I had 4 drivers in the top 10 (1st, 4th, 6th, and 9th) and the other in 34th.

They usually show up a day after the race. But I just add mine up with the points in the race results. Harvick had 185 and so on.
