The Florida Panthers have fired head coach Kevin Dineen

Wow. Dale Tallon was on Prime Time Sports last night and, while I didn't hear the complete interview, he was clearly frustrated, but still preaching patience and the long-term big picture. I like the outlook of their team in the next few years, but they have to start putting some butts in the seats because each game is like a ghost town. I think there are more people walking the aisles selling beer than there are fans to drink it.

With how bad they were last year and this year, you kind of have to fire him. Their future looks bright as long as they build correctly and they gotta bring in a big free agent or two. They have some decent players but always lack star power.

he did bring them to the playoffs in his first season....

from the hockey news write up
"as Tallon said, it’s easier to fire a coach than 23 players. It’s also easier than making the GM accountable for his moves. Tallon is four years into his tenure with the Panthers and they’ve not gotten better. They’ve gotten worse."
