It's been awhile, but your latest injection of green-ness has arrived!!! :taz:
The Whalers collection really getting down to a crawl now, with very few cards left on the wantlist, and very limited love from the card producers. But man it's still a blast! It's given me loads of time to work on custom art cards and what great time I'm having with that! To date, my Hartford Whalers grand total sits at 4,595 out of 4,626 possible cards (so only 31 cards to go!). I still don't target one-of-ones, show cards, or buy backs (I do have a few in my collection but there aren't a priority).

FINAL HOME GAME unused ticket
Let's start with an oddball item; but it feels like it needs to be part of my collection. A minty, unused Game Ticket from their final home game back in 1997. Yes it says GAME 41; because there were 41 home games and 41 road games. I haven't decided where or how I will display this, but I'll come up with something.
1981-82 MiniPics very scarce
Let's begin with some vintage rarities. I already had a complete base set of these, but when pulling it together it became apparent to me that different images had been used for the same player cards. I suspect that means that there weren't a lot of these made back on the day. I also learned that these were only sold at the Hartford Civic arena at games, "possibly" one player card per game. The info on these is very sketchy, but I have come to learn that they also did some Bruins cards (maybe its a New England region thing?). So by grabbing this autographed set, I can now show the different images (not today LOL) to anyone that knows about these cards. If I see another variation, I'll probably grab that one too. These are a unique size, not like any other mini cards I have (they are close, but not the same).

2010-11 Panini PRIME Genuine Letters 6/7
Met a fellow collector through my custom card stuff, turns out he's a Ron Francis collector, but he had this beauty tucked away! Interestingly he also has one of my top wants (2012-13 Ron Francis CUP Limited Logos /25). As a testament to true Ron Francis collectors, I made him an insane offer and he declined the trade. You'll see what I offered a little later in this thread. If nothing else it shows how badly I want that Limited Logos card, and how rabid the Francis collectors are!

2012-13 The CUP Ron Francis Base card 024/249
With exception to any new cards that get circulated, this was that last base card on my wantlist. I remain befuddled by what really happened to some of the cards from the 2012 CUP release, as the scarcity far exceeds what the card is numbered out of. I'm VERY happy to finally have this one in the collection!
2013-14 Crown Royale Pacific Kramer's Choice Base and Sapphire versions
An ultra-cool story to this one. A while back, Avalanchfan21 contacted me here on HI to let me know he had seen a Ferraro card that I might be interested in over on Reddit. I never use reddit but thought what the heck, I'll see what's there. Sure enough it's the SAPPHIRE (right image below) numbered to 10. It took some time and effort, but ultimately the card is now in my collection. A huge thank you to Kevin!!! :beer:

I consider myself fortunate to learn about these two separate cards becoming available, so had to land them both!

As you may know, I don't really pursue 1 of 1 cards, but this one was made available to me, at a fair price. It's such a beautiful card that I ended up buying it. I later offered this incredible card for a 2012-13 CUP Limited Logos card of Ron Francis and was turned down? WOW!

Man the patch piece on this Ronnie is insane, so pleased to score this one under the Francis collectors' radar!!!!

I've been able to corner 9 of the 10 variants I want. The final piece will require more budget than I have ever set aside for a card, but I'm ready. I just need to find the PSA 10.....
OK, I'm done, I'm spent! Time for a nap!!!! That brings this edition to a close, thank you for being part of the journey. Perhaps my next thread will be more about the custom work I've been asked to work on...Hockey, Football, Baseball, Premier League, Minor League....
