Hi Everyone,

Sorry for being two weeks late but, here is my top ten of 2018. 2018 was a pretty good year for me in the hobby. I picked up a few new rookie cards for my collection and also added some really nice pieces along the way. :D For those of you who don't follow me on Twitter or Instagram, some of these will be new since I haven't made a mail post in a while.

10. 2016-17 Upper Deck Team Canada Ethan Bear Patch Auto /199
This is not a rookie card but, is a great piece for my collection.

9. 1982-83 O-Pee-Chee Grant Fuhr rookie card PSA 8
I also landed this one off of eBay for a pretty fair price and is definitely an upgrade for the copy I have in my collection.

8. 2018-19 Upper Deck Zach Whitecloud Young Guns Exclusives /100
A new Indigenous player on the scene, I had to get the Exclusives to go along with the regular Young Guns versions that I picked up after the set was released.

6. 2003-04 SP Authentic Jordin Tootoo Future Watch Auto Patch /100
I have always loved watching Jordin Tootoo even before I started this collection and always wanted to have this card. I was finally able to land a copy this past year and has gone into my mini Tootoo player collection.

5. 2003-04 O-Pee-Chee Jordin Tootoo Red /100
I was watching this card on eBay for almost a year and luckily I noticed that it belonged to Bruce who posted it in a thread I made in honour of Tootoo's retirement. I messaged him right away and asked him if I could buy it and another (Titanium rc /55) off of him. Bruce met up with me at Wayne's and we made the transaction. I was so happy to add this one to my collection as it's not often one of these will pop up.

4. 1934 Clarence "Taffy" Abel Matchbook from Taffy Abel's Log Cabin Cafe
This is not officially a hockey card but, it so cool! Just something I wanted in my collection and so old!

3. 2016-17 Upper Deck Brandon Montour Young Guns Gold Rainbow Foil
A few members here know how long I looked for one of these cards and luckily a couple eventually popped up on COMC. Another addition to my Brandon Montour mini player collection. Yes I am going for the rainbow...

2. 2005-06 Fleer Ultra Rene Bourque Rookie Uniformity Patch Auto /5
Seen this one sitting in one of dahabs26's many lots he has for sale. I sent him a message and let him know that if the lot did not sell, I would be interested in buying this card for my collection. Fortunately, he was kind enough to let me buy it as a single and now it sits in my collection. :D

1. 2003-04 Upper Deck Jordin Tootoo Young Guns Canadian Exclusives /50
A week before I purchased this card off of eBay, a HG /10 version of this card popped up on eBay and was even being sold locally. I hit a watch on it and figured I would come up with an offer within a couple days. Well, that card sold and I was very regretful as these HG & Exclusive versions are never seen of this card. I was very disappointed that I let it slip away and when this card came up I had to buy it. This is my number one because of how hard these cards are to find and is also a reminder to myself to pull the trigger! Lol.

Thanks everyone for reading and sharing in a review of my 2018 in the hobby!

Fabulous selections all around! I love the Tootoo rookies, but I must say that the Taffy takes the cake for me. Its amazing how far we have come from pictures on a box of matches to what we have now. Reading your story on the Tootoo YG /50 reminds me of my hesitant trigger finger when I wanted to try to win the bid on a Semin YG /50 last week. I was out from home at a burger king, got my order. Set my phone aside watching the listing tick down to put my bid in at the waning moments. Sure enough, at the same time I was conversing and the last thing I know it went from 3 minutes left, to "OH Damn!!" lol. When it comes to these older rare cards, if the resources are right, take no chances lol. I hope you find that Tootoo HG /10 soon. It belongs in your collection =)

Very nice additions to your PC.

Great to have a very quick chat with you at Northgate this past weekend.

The 1934 Clarence "Taffy" Abel Matchbook from Taffy Abel's Log Cabin Café is my favorite.

Thanks for the show and congrats.

Amazing show Naim! So many memories. That Tootoo SPA is such a nostalgic card for me too. Beautiful stuff. Thanks for showing

Yeah, that was the year I just got back into collecting and I remember seeing them and wanting a Tootoo so bad but, couldn't afford it! They were also selling for a lot more than I got it for, haha.

Very nice! Definitely some hard to find cards in there. The 03-04 SPA FW auto patches were a sharp set

Yes, one of my favourite sets too!

Man, these cards are so cool! Some recent, and some a blast from the past!! Way to go! My favourite is the Uniformity /5 and that unique matchbook from 1934.

Thank you! Yeah, I honestly never thought I would own one. I used to have a Rene Bourque collection that was filled with Young Guns High Gloss, The Cup rookies, etc. and the Rookie Uniformity was a tough one to find at that time. I sold the collection to my brother (regrettably) and it is now in the hands of another HI member.

Great additions! Love the Tootoo stuff, especially the SPA auto patch!

Me too! I actually met Tootoo over Christmas at the World Juniors!

Thank you. I hope I find it soon too!

Very sweet pickups! Love the Tootoo's! (I also have a mini PC of him)

Awesome! I wouldn't mind to see what you have!

Thanks, Brian. It was great to see you too! The "Taffy" Abel seems to be a favourite! :D

Thanks everyone for comments!

Great additions Naim, hopefully another Tootoo HG /10 shows up for you. Love the 1934 matchbook, really unique piece for your collection. All the best to you & your family in 2019!

Awesome stuff Naim. That said, I don't think you were late to the party - I saw your Twitter feed over the holidays. Them World Juniors looked pretty fun.

Really enjoy seeing your collection grow. I'm always looking forward to seeing what you pick up next and then learning a little bit about the players you collect. Your Instagram feed is fantastic!

Have a great 2019!

Thank you, Al! I greatly appreciate the kind wishes!

Great additions Naim. I love the Tootoo trains.

Thanks, Terry. My Tootoo PC has grown quite a bit. I have mini PC's of Tootoo, Cheechoo, Montour, Bear, and Whitecloud which all grew out of my main PC.

The World Juniors were awesome!

Yeah, it's been pretty cool to find all of these cards and to see the interest in them. Also, Thanks for endorsing my Instagram page! Haha.

Great haul for 2018 Naim! Nice work on the Rainbow and the Canadian Exclusive!

Good luck to you and your PC in 2019, look forward to what it brings you!
