UD announces new president

They have a new President, not CEO. McWilliam will still be at the helm but this new guy might be doing doing the creative overhaul that is desperately needed.

This guy will be George W Bush to McWilliam's Cheney. I'm sure Tricky Rick will have his hand far up this clown's tucchus and will be making him walk and talk just as he pleases.

Sorry, not an impressive change. Oust the CEO and right the ship.

what the hell is a B. Sc. in Accounting? Did he audit guppies?

Just so that I am clear.... McWilliam is gone now?

No Mcwilliam is still the CEO he just isnt the president anymore.

Well I hope the new fall guy errr president will make a difference

How? He's McWilliam without the stupid moustache and the greedy streak. McWilliam tagged in a puppet to take the heat for a while as I am sure he was getting tired of the skewering. This will change NOTHING except who in Carlsbad gets crapped on.

you know, my usual Upper Deck hated aside, I think this is a good move. Fresh ideas, new blood and the like. His resume certainly seems to speak of someone who will do what it takes to make businesses work. Perhaps, if we are lucky, he will realize that includes appeasing the unwashed masses.

i think it may get worse , as the new guy is "accountant" background and his previous posts have been to increase revenue. I think if the new person was a sports collectible fan it may have changed some things.'
This is business and he will be concerned about bottom line, so i can see an increase of sp autos, decrease in hard signed cards (also increase their prices) and more photo shoot, all star etc jerseys and of course a drop in customer service as they will (and have been) cutting staff.

These are my thoughts and i will wait an see what actually happens. The way the hobby has gone, hard signed game used items will increase in value and will become less available.

I like ud products but i only buy on 2ndary market as busting wax is like burning money unless you are doing it on "large scale" and at a wholesale price.

An accountant. Great. Not to stereotype but...........

I think you guys know what I'm thinking.

WWhattt you trying to say, man....I am a pharmacist and I can count more than just pills; I am certain this fine gentleman will have a passion for more than just numbers.......one...two....three....four....five.......

I agree 100%. I'm living the corporate-american "dream", and I have learned first hand that once the finance types get in, its all about revenue, base cost, artificial concern for customers, metrics, and cash flow. Nothing more.

Some think UD already had the fork stuck in them, but this ...

Haha! Being a history/political science bachelor, I can tell you there's about a billion flaws about economists, accountants and all that stuff when you give them anything other than numbers!

You know what that means? Quality is not measurable in numbers; therefore, it will remain of no importance to this inhuman corporation.

Nothing more than a bean counter and BC's aren't known for their creative qualities. Merely a fall guy for when the inevitable happens.
