Disclaimer: I've been collecting hockey cards for 11 years, and cards in general for much longer. At this stage in the game you'd think I would be more careful, but have a look at the pic:

This is my Jagr keeper box. Untold thousands are tied up in that box, and in the ITG slabbed cards stacked precariously in my closet on a shelving unit. As for the box above, some are in top loaders, some are just in penny sleeves. A mere two are in Pro Mold One-Touch magnetic holders, and I'd like to get them all in some.

In an effort to be more safety-minded, can someone tell me the approximate card fits for the various point sizes for these holders? A quick search reveals 35-, 55-, 110-, 135-pt holders, and I know there are many more. Descriptions range from "regular cards" to "thick cards", all completely relative.

Better late than never, right?

Just out of curiousity. Why do you want to use the megnetic holders. They are exspensive, they scratch the same as top loaders. You can likely buy a pack of top loaders for the price of one or two of the magnetic holders.I do not find they even stay together very good.Although most people are not handleing their cards very much.Thanks,Winston.

I really like the one touch and I have used hundreds of them.

That being said they nick and scratch up so easy it makes me angry.

and I don't like putting them in graded sleeves or team bags.

I just deal with it and move on better than damaged cards

Thanks

I like the one-touch as well but I like the sizes to be a bit more then needed.
I would say about 90% are in one touch but...
I don't like them being a tight fit(no pressure on card),I then put them in graded bags,...
rather change a bag then the holder.
The sizes I use are 55-75pt for auto's ,100 for jersey cards and 130+pt for thick patch cards.
For the super thick dual sided cards a 10 count snap case works slick.
Next they are photographed then filed away.
I don't like to handle my cards a lot so if I want to look at them...thats what the pics are for.

One-touch are outstanding. Easily the best and most attractive safety measures.

I bought boxes and boxes of .35pt, 100 pt, and .135 pt and I'm in storage heaven

Thanks, Murray, that's the sort of response I was looking for (with relevant sizes).

Winston, to answer your question, after flipping through my cards I just don't feel right about keeping a $250 card in a penny sleeve only. That's just one example of many, but I figure that if I'm spending that amount of money on a card I might as well give it the royal treatment. I understand the scratching and all, but I'm not handling my cards with sandpaper gloves these days.
