VERY nice UD redemption replacement

For once.


Last year I replaced a whack of 05-06 Hot Prospects red hots of Bernier and Filppula for a stack of Phil Kessel 06-07 SOTT and Ryan Smyth Chirograpy autos (8 in total).

I was not impressed.




Until today.


I replaced the following:

I was expecting/hoping for 4 auto patch cards #'d to 25 or less in return.



But instead I got this:

Needless to say, I am a very satisfied UD customer, although I did get worried by the fact that the customs declaration said it was a $9 card --- used to say $19.



Now if only these would get made:

K's must've been sent in last by Wayne... too funny! Congrats to you and all the other HI members getting one!
 
It's got a pretty decent ding at the top right of the "K", but UD did well by me.
I'm assuming that someone sent it back to UD for quality control.
 
Hi, stupid question but i have to ask. Did you send them to be replaced because they were damaged or you just wanted a replacement?
 
If these really are previously replaced damaged cards then there would actually be 2 cards with the same #'ing.

Something strange going on to say the least.
 
I have to say that is a nice set of replacements. I have never had any luck with replacements. I sent in an SPGU doug gilmour 3 color patch and got back the same card in a 1 color with a higher print run.. Just my dumb luck

Not necessarily. It might be a card that was deemed to be too damaged to be packed out. I don't know if UD goes that far in their QC, given some of the damaged cards that get pulled, but it might be in the realm of possibility.

Good point, never thought of that.

I guess a big question might be weather or not any collectors actually pulled these cards from the wax? I thought I read somewhere that they were a redemption.
 
I see your point but what about the cases where you send in a damaged card right away after a product release and get something completely offbeat as a replacement. I will give you an example. I pulled a UD premier auto /15 redemption and recieved a pirates logo patch and a bob feller auto. I am not one to compare cash value to the original purchse but they should at least give you a replacement from the same product.
