The last time there was a goaltending matchup this damn good was probably the 2012 Stanley Cup Finals Jonathan Quick vs. Martin Brodeur.

These guys are both playing some of the best hockey of their careers right now, hot goalie vs goalie, what a treat this will be for hockey fans.

It's a tough pick, I think the Canadiens ice the better team overall but dude, the Rangers have proven everyone wrong so far, they're world beaters right now.

SO hard to pick one but I will give the slight edge to the veteran Lundqvist he has been just a tad more stellar and clutch than Price this postseason.

Poll closes the day of Game 1 of the ECF so back one dude now and talk smack later.

Over 90% of the goals scored on Price this playoffs have been screens and deflections. I think he has also shutout the Rangers twice this year. For those reasons I am picking Price. I think they both will play stellar actually.

Your spot on, both goalies playing out of their minds right now. what a great match up this will be. cant wait.

I'll use a old John Wayne quote from a movie. If I had to judge between the skill of each goalie

"I'd hate to live on the difference"

I just see lundqvist playing like a beast the rest of these playoffs, even if he may not move to the finals, he will be the better goalie.

I love both goaltenders and think both will stand ontop of their heads. I'd have to give the slight nod to Price though. He's also got better defensive support imo.

I was thinking that New York had the best defense. But I think Price is on a really good mind set with the win at the Olympics. Both goalies have won huge games this year, two game 7 for Lundqvist and the Olympics and a game 7 for Price.

I think Price will use his Olympic Gold mind control over Lundqvist and Carey the Habs to the SCF.

Hank, of course, either way should be a great series. I do not despise the Habs like I do the Bruins, far less obscenities will be uttered for this series.

excited for the series.

goalies - both are hot right now
defense - overall, think Rangers are better but Subban can be a game changer
offense - advantage to Montreal right now
special teams - story of hot PP (MON) vs shutdown PK (NYR)

with how both teams arrived here, it's too close to guess and can go either way.

I voted Price even though I think up to this point Lundqvist has been a better goalie. Price is coming into his own this season and seems to be in a zone right now. Going to be a great series.

Well, unfortunately there is no way to edit this post to make it Lundqvist vs Budaj.

What a gut punch for the Habs!

Yea doesn't get much more heart breaking than that. A great run ending with your best player getting injured? WOW, I can't stand the Habs and evne I feel sorry for them.

I agree with you, but for me the team is fine, it's the Habs fans being so pompous and arrogant. That said, I would never want to see any team not have the ability to compete fully healthy and fairly for The Cup, especially without their franchise player.

This is a loss for the NHL playoffs and hockey fans in general, the goaltending matchup could have been EPIC.
