Patch forger... caught! gomaz would be proud ;)

Yes that's him and I remember that sign. banner on the old Blech-ett.

I have never had a problem dealing with Marcello, and have even got a few good auction deals in my time. I would be shocked if anyone had proof he was somehow involved in all this.
It's obvious if you ever view one of his weekly auctions, he buys/trades for nice cards to flip. As long as he is flipping legit cards, I'm more than content on continuing to buy PC items from him.

Yeah, i have bought from him many times in the past as well, all smooth deals and he was always top notch. If i remember they are a father/son Hobby team, that runs this business.

Marcello's son was banned from here when he was very young ( I think he said 14). He knew the rule was "never allowed back", so he never bothered to try. We discussed this at jury selection!! That is if it is the Marcello and son from my neck of the woods.......

Yeah you're right Shaun. I believe Dave's banning here was behavioral more than a reflection of the cards he was selling, or his trading/selling practices. He had a tendency on BMB to fight things a little too hard to the point of insults...I'm guessing that's what did him in here :)

i would vouch for dave now, he was young and immature at the time of his banning. now, he is a stand up guy with a better attitude. his father is top notch in my books as well and they would be the last guys that would knowingly sell fakes and altered cards. they are definitely turn and burn, high end only.

I have more information that I will share when the time is right about Marcello... but suffice to say, I'm with Darren on this one.

Dave was a tool when he was younger, but tries to sign up here at least once a month, even though he knows there is a "one banned, always banned" policy.

I`ve dealt whit him on my ebay debut and can tell you not much has change... Marcello was kind enough to try and make things right.

Is the other information about higher selling price than anybody else ? I dunno if its is rep or something, is stuff always seems to sell higher then anybody else.

The cards that Marcello has up right now are not Kenny Ao specials. Marcello is a stand up seller who IMHO would never knowingly sell a faked patch. He took the Kenny situation pretty hard. Say what you want about Dave in his younger years at Beckett, but Marcello is stand up, and to be honest I wouldn't mind seeing the more mature Dave on these boards.

Gotta put my 2 cents in on this one.......

I agree with John....they would never knowingly buy fake patches nor continue to deal with someone who's a crook.....

They are good people......too bad they have no idea on how to run a business.......but that's another thread for another day :)

While they may or may not (the Norrena and Price) have been altered they were listed by Kenny on ebay AFTER the whole patch forging issue came up. The fact that Marcello is now selling them leads me to much doubt as to the whole idea of him taking the situation all that hard. Looks to me like he bought a fresh batch of stuff SINCE so yes Kenny is still actively moving stuff and likely only a matter of time before a bunch more hit the market through one channel or another.

I bought a card from Marcello a while ago. It never arrived. I messaged him on ebay SEVARAL times. I finally got mad and asked why he wasn't returning my messages? It turned out he responded to to every message but did it through email. (Back then I never checked my email, lol)

Anyway, he gave me a full refund, no questions asked. I thought that was cool of him.

This thread continues and it a real interesting read for me. I'm surprised that this thread made the front page of the magazine, and the picture of the SWAT police, hilarious, the authorities never went after this guy. The fact that this thread is still going on and the issue made it's way on the front page of the magazine is what prompted this response from me. JaY

Great, seeing that Mikka OPC Premier quad patch makes me think about my card if its a fake. BUT one thing about mine is, I saw #18/20 on ebay not to long ago and the 1st patch section looked just like one of mine and the rest were all one color but man I still think about it.

Kenny had called me the night before the June 7 show indicating that he would like to attend as he told me he would like to make good and talk to people he may have affected (Marcello being a name he mentioned). I was happy that he'd face the music and didn't want to get in the way of that happening so we agreed that he could attend strictly as a customer, was not allowed to sell at all, and was banned from setting up as a dealer until he cleared his reputation.

He didn't attend on June 7th afterall, but did attend on July 12th. He attended as a customer, but I noticed him sitting behind a dealer table at one point in time. This perturbed us and prompted me to add a new policy to our dealer information package stating that only dealers are permitted to be behind dealer tables. I have no clue whether he was selling. It was just a matter of perception that was enough to bother me.

In addition, we have since gave him notice that he is banned from attending the show for a minimum of six months with a decision whether or not to lift the ban to be made at that point in time.

Not only was he allowed in, he was busy hangin' with our good buddy that's been selling his cards according to another show attendee.

If anyone has any information as to who this "good buddy" is, especially if he is a dealer at our show, please PM me and 99goals. Also while attending the show if you ever have anything to report, please let myself or Ameet know.

Wow. So he has openly admitted to everything and is playing it off as a "my bad, I'm sorry let's move on" kinda thing? I'm not one to condemn anyone for something, but it's safe to say there are a LOT of people on here who wouldn't ever wanna see him around any card show...or anywhere near them period i would think (from reading the responses in this thread)

I don't know how he's playing it off. I may be naive, but I'm hoping that he clears his reputation - which he said he knows he has to do.

No one has suggested to us that he be banned from attending the show, but we chose to do so.

After conning thousands and thousands of dollars out of people, selling them items that are simply not real, he has the balls to show up at a card show??? How can you even explain yourself? There is no acceptable response to what he has done! This runs along the lines of murder in the hobby world. I think this is worser than straight up stealing cards form someone.... if you steal them, you probably can only do it a few times before people get wise to you. He was like a serial killer doing this for a heck of a long time. I feel very sorry for some people who spent big $$$ on certain cards thinking that they are getting an amazing real swatch....... however, if they do not know it is fake, then how will anybody know? Some of these cards will continue to get traded, bought, and sold continously without anyone ever knowing they are fake.

I have never seen a picture of the guy but I am surprised no one kicked the crap out of him. If I had been screwed by this guy and he showed up at a card show I was at playing cool, I wouldn't hesitate to get right in his face and get back what was mine.
