bottom line is you are NOT going to replace 40 goals with those 3 guys..
Gabby does not have 40 goals, he 'had' 40, and he will allow just as many if not more due to his poor defensive play. Thats the problem with being a one-dimensional player, once your scoring goes, you are essentially useless.
It is the same with baseball's 'runs saved' to 'runs created' ratio for evaluating players. You can have a player hit 30 homeruns and 110 RBIs be the most useless player on the team if they give up just as many runs with their D play.
When the Rags have the puck, it is 5on5, but when they dont, it turns to 4on5 when Gabs is on the ice. Jagr's famous "prancing around the red line" looking for the 2 line pass was more help.
Im not saying the 3 we get in return will score 40 goals, I couldnt care less about their goals. The point is, they will save more than the 40 Gabby scored guaranteed. Any goals they score is gravy. Then again, this wouldn't be a problem if we kept Prust in the first place....
The problem is not Torts, he is
by far the best coach I have seen on this team in my 30 year history. Some say Keenan was better, and I say anyone looks good when they are here for a stacked team, win a cup, and leave. In no way should Torts go anywhere. The Rags as a team need continue their game while getting a few players to finally score some goals. You can't honestly blame Torts for Gabby not scoring this year, or not playing D ever.
