NHL Trade Rumours and Deals

So it's essentially:

Rangers get: Nash, Brassard, Moore, Dorsett and a 6th

Jackets get: Gaborik, Dubinsky, Erixon, Anisimov, and a 1st which will be a lottery pick if NYR miss the playoffs.

That's exactly what I meant. It IS a good thing. Simply saying that with all those top 10 picks they had (Filatov, Zherdev, Brule) and not one of them amounted to anything. Hopefully things will finally turn around.

Gotcha....the future looks bright

Also to comment on the Conacher trade since I'm all about Tampa.... This better not be another goalie bust like the past 5 years/goalies for us, Conacher's going to be around for a long time and I wish I could have collected him on the Lightning.... Was just waiting for few of his cards to come out, looks like its on to Teddy Purcell\

Also I'll be cheeering for Mason in Philly, always liked him

So we get rid of a 7mil+ 30 year old for a 22, 25, and 26 year old all with offensive upsides and are sound defensively? Ill take that all day over Gabby. 40 goals are hard to make up, but when you are responsible for just as many it kind of evens out in the end.....

Gabs was hugely expendable with Nash in the lineup, and has made that obvious. He has been non-existent on the ice this year following his 40 goal year, and is now a guy who can't play D to save his life joining a team already lacking D (who got rid of 3 more defensive players in return).

bottom line is you are NOT going to replace 40 goals with those 3 guys. sure hes having an off year just like a ton of other guys are this year. the only trade they shouldve made was trading torts for any other coach.

Sabres deal ends up being Hacket, Larsson a first in 2012 and 2nd in 2014 for Pominville and a 4th in 2014.

first source hockeybuzz, second source tsn.

Can't wait for Gaborik Bluejackets patch cards!!

But you know they will use Wild and Rangers jersey for years yet...at least Upper Deck will! :)

Maybe the fresh start Gaborik needs.

And my Wild got Pominville. Good player...high salary.....hope it works out.

Gabby does not have 40 goals, he 'had' 40, and he will allow just as many if not more due to his poor defensive play. Thats the problem with being a one-dimensional player, once your scoring goes, you are essentially useless.

It is the same with baseball's 'runs saved' to 'runs created' ratio for evaluating players. You can have a player hit 30 homeruns and 110 RBIs be the most useless player on the team if they give up just as many runs with their D play.

When the Rags have the puck, it is 5on5, but when they dont, it turns to 4on5 when Gabs is on the ice. Jagr's famous "prancing around the red line" looking for the 2 line pass was more help.

Im not saying the 3 we get in return will score 40 goals, I couldnt care less about their goals. The point is, they will save more than the 40 Gabby scored guaranteed. Any goals they score is gravy. Then again, this wouldn't be a problem if we kept Prust in the first place....

The problem is not Torts, he is by far the best coach I have seen on this team in my 30 year history. Some say Keenan was better, and I say anyone looks good when they are here for a stacked team, win a cup, and leave. In no way should Torts go anywhere. The Rags as a team need continue their game while getting a few players to finally score some goals. You can't honestly blame Torts for Gabby not scoring this year, or not playing D ever.

Whoa!

Looks like Washington traded away Filip Forsberg to Nashville for Martin Erat and Michael Latta... Weird move if you ask me...

So on twitter Bob Mack keeps mentioning the Caps are keeping very quite on a trade they have done...

Filip Foresburg to Preds for Erat and Latta (to caps)

I don't know how I feel about this one.. I was looking forward to seeing Filip Forsberg play for the :caps:....

Great deal for the Sabres dumping Pominville for two decent prospects and two high draft picks. Regier is killing it so far. Maybe we won't fire him. :)

Wow, The Preds and Sabres fleeced their respective teams on those deals. Fans of both clubs should be very happy with the returns they got on their end of the trades.

Those will be great patches. We gave up some talent but i think we got a great player. And with heatly more than likely not coming back next year pominville will fill in for him.

This was a move for winning now. Which is a great sign from the front office
