Patrick Kane potentially in trouble again

Well that's the thing in this part of the case--I don't think Kane himself would have any possible way to access that evidence. It would have to be someone from the police department. Some crazed fan who thinks he's doing his favourite player a favour. I honestly don't know.

I can't see someone taking that big of a criminal risk just out of courtesy. If the allegations are true and they can prove it I would think Kane or Kane's lawyer played a role.

The bag could have been there "A Day and a Half" it says, and it was discovered Tuesday.

Kaner himself has been at camp since late last week. So to say he himself had anything to do with that, I find it very very hard to believe.

O.J. Simpson maybe didn't kill his ex wife and her lover but he definitely had something to do with it. Just food for thought.

In any case, it doesn't look good. His lawyer's statement that his DNA was nowhere to be found below her waist, doesn't inspire confidence either...

It may exonarate him criminally - but really is that the kind of statement you want to make when declaring yourself innocent? Draw your own conclusions...

Putting the empty evidence bag on the mothers doorstep in no way helps Kane or his legal defense, it actually hurts him. So why would anyone think for a second that he or his team would do that, do you really think his lawyers are saying, "Hey, lets plant something that would make it look like the evidence was tampered with, that's a great idea".

There are reports out there that the rape kit returned positive results for one or more unidentified individuals, none of which match Kane's DNA. Who knows what that means, but it certainly would not look good for the accuser if true.

I just wish this stuff didn't get played out in the media the way it does these days, it is not good for either side.

Case is getting weirder

The thing I don't get is why the lawyers decided to have a live press conference about it. It started out about how disappointing all the leaks were and that everything was supposed to remain in secret until the grand jury hearing. Then they go and give all that info anyways.

That is the most puzzling thing about the press conference and how the media is reporting it. You are trying to say that the evidence from the rape kit, which actually helps the defendant, was tampered with by someone on the defendants side? Why would they tamper with evidence that helps them? And even more puzzling is the people who are buying it. The last thing the Kane side wants is for that evidence to be tampered with, so which side benefits from throwing about the tampering accusation? Now the police are saying, "No, we have the kit and packaging and the chain of custody was not broken."

I don't know what's happening here, but I wish these things weren't played out in the public and media like this. Do your investigation and leave people's names out of it until you have actual proof and an arrest is made. Now we have one side saying one thing, another side saying the opposite, and only one persons name is being dragged through the mud whether he's guilty or innocent.

It's social media dude. Everything and anything is posted within seconds from anywhere. Times are a changin LOL.

I refuse to comment or make fair assumptions on this case anymore hahaha. Like one member posted above, this is shaping up to be an Law & Order SVU case. Damn.

This really looks bad for the accuser now. If that fake evidence bag was planted by them, they should be brought up on charges. The police have already said they have the original evidence bag and contents in their possession, so it makes sense that once it was shown to the lawyer, he decided he could be in serious trouble with his client if they planted it. This just gets crazier by the minute, and tends to lean towards Kane may not be guilty given what the rape kit results showed as well.

I know it's the age of social media, but this is exactly why people's names should not be released until there is proof and an arrest. Yikes.

He might not be guilty of anything - but to put yourself in a position where you can be potentially in that kind of a situation - at a minimum shows extremely poor judgement.

That's my opinion as well. This is just opinion of course but he REALLY needs to smarten up already. After the cab incident there's no excuse putting yourself in this situation.

True, he is not known for making smart choices. On the flip side though, if he is truly innocent, what is he supposed to do moving forward? If he's not at the rink is he supposed to live in a protective bubble with 24 hour video recording of his every move? Is he not allowed to have a life? If this turns out to be a false accusation intended for a cash grab, he was an easy target given his past, but it could have happened to any athlete or person with financial means. Plenty of hockey players and athletes go out for a night of drinking on the town and chasing women, just ask Jaromir Jagr or Rob Gronkowski. They are allowed to live the life of a single man, just like regular folk. But, given his past, he should have a full time security team with him if nothing else then to protect him from himself.

Given the guys off ice life, I would not mind it one bit if Chicago found someone to take him off their hands. His elevator doesn't seem to go to the top floor and I doubt he is done being in the headlines for any number of reasons.
