2005 Canadian Fall Expo Cards /10

Hi, I have recently started trying to collect the 2005-06 UD high glossy /10 set and also the 2005 canadian fall expo /10 set. I can't seem to find any checklists for the canadian fall expo cards, it seems to me that it includes all of the series 1 cards. Does anyone know if a Crosby YG Fall expo cards exists? Has anyone seen it before? Also I have seen some UD promo cards from that year as well but again I cannot find a checklist to follow as a guideline should I decide to chase it as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated and feel free to contact me should you have anything in my wantlist, thanks!

Yes the Crosby does exist. It is still the best redemption card I ever hit. Can't remember what I sold it for but it does exist.

I just listed a bunch of them I had left about 6 months ago on COMC. They sold within a few days. There must be some other people doing the set as well.

Wow! Do you remember who you sold it to? Do you happen to still have a picture of it? Also in your opinion which card is tougher to come by, the high glossy /10 Crosby or the Canadian fall expo Crosby?
 
I have physically seen a Crosby Fall Expo/10. I've also physically seen a Crosby YG HG Glossy/10.

If you're doing those two sets, you have far more patience than I ever will have... :D

And, if you want me to, I can search around my stuff. I know I have a few HG Glossy/10 and at least 3 Fall Expo/10.

If I remember correctly there was not a lot of that promotion redeemed either. You had to open a box of All World to get 1 card out of /10. I think I opened 3-4 cases and was one of the few opening it.

On a side note the same box I found the promos out of /10 was some All World numbered cards and they sold very fast and for good money as well. Not a lot of that opened either.
 
Don't worry - all 10 copies of the cards made it out in to the industry somehow. During the show, we had a large group organized through Beckett and Upper Deck have a mini-get together and they gave out some of them. They then included them in giveaways at their summits, etc. 10 copies however is NOT a lot and when you're talking a 10 year old product that was very popular, they are definitely few and far between.

I remember that getogether. On the Saturday lots of pizzas and a free box of 05/06 upperdeck on our chairs. Just awesome to be invited to that! I have seen the Crosby and I have had A few others over the years. I think I only have the Scott Stevens now which could be made available if you need it.

The information on how the cards were actually distributed is really cool, I had never heard about how they were actually acquired initially, thanks!

In everyone's opinion which Crosby would in fact be tougher to acquire and be more valuable on the market: the pack pulled HG YG /10 or the redemption Fall Expo YG /10? What kind of prices were these going for when they first came out and what do you expect they would sell for today? Any thoughts on the Ovechkin HG YG?

Sorry a lot of questions but I was only in grade 6 at the time these came out and I love the look of these cards then and now haha
 
Was at the gathering and received a YG there and another out on the floor from another member. Can't remember seeing them around here in a long time. It was a great promo with those cards red foiled if I recall? Long time, lol, I seem to remember a red foil on it somewhere. :)

You are correct about the red foil.Both the fall expo /10 and the Beckett insert promos used red foil:goal:
 
Promo set - couldn't tell you what was released... or if it's the full set.

On the Fall Expo Redemption /10, there definitely was a full Series 1 parallel set, including Young Guns, done.

I am leaning towards the UD promo cards are all of the series 1 base set, as I have now seen cards ranging from numbers from 1 to 197, so I'm assuming there is 1-200. No YGs,

And I am now 100% confident that the canadian fall expo cards are an exact parallel set to the series 1 series including all of the YGs and Crosby. Would absolutely love to see a copy of this card as I have never laid eyes on one. Any information on the whereabouts of this card and anything else I need would be appreciated, thanks!
 
They are beautiful cards! This one's in my PC.......good luck on putting together the set!

This guy is a great person to work with. Actually helped me purge some of my Ex-Wife's cards from my collection. Good luck on the rest of your quest. If I run across anymore I will let you know.
