I have a McDavid Young Guns for trade - he's hot right now so you should jump on it!

Awesome card - beauty!

Would you take one of my livers? I can get by with just one :D

Are you sure about getting by with just one.I thought we only had one liver.
I can help remove it at the next show if he makes the trade.

But you are right. It is an awesome card for sure.Very nicely centered.

Card has been sold! Thanks for all of the interest and comments. I am truly stunned at rise in value since 2011... craziness!

That makes two of us, pal. Absolutely insane what the high-grade vintage market has done lately. We're also seeing this trend across all sports/markets. Will be interesting to see how high the ceiling is for these singles. Congrats on the sale!

Cheers,

Thanks... I had watched a few PWCC auctions for PSA 9's hit ungodly numbers and thought it may have been shilling or something crazy like that. I talked to my friend as I knew he had a PSA 9 and asked if he wanted to see what he could get. He agreed, not expecting much and things went nuts! I wish I could go back to 2011, take out a line of credit and buy all the Gretzky PSA 9's I could find, lol! The most stunning thing about it is that almost everyone the owner talked to felt very strongly that the price will continue to go up for at least another 2-3 years!

I buy my fair share of item(s) from PWCC. Mostly for my modern baseball collection. But if I don't see something I really want, it doesn't take much motivation to find something else to add to the collection. As they are always listing eye candy. But I do follow the vintage market extremely closely. And check daily to see what sort of prices their upper echelon vintage items are fetching. Some of the prices are absolutely jaw-dropping. I've talked to other collectors, and honestly feel that they are the primary reason why the market is so strong right now. Some can argue that the PSA registry is the pulling force behind this. And I do believe that it's part of it. But the registry has been around for a while now. Prices on these singles didn't start to rise until we seen a steady flow of high-quality singles being offered by PWCC.

I also feel that they are now attracting the right buyers and sellers to their auctions. They are giving seller's a great alternative to sell their items, without using any of the major auctions houses. They are offering below normal EBay rates to sell your item(s). And they do all the work. And aren't taking any "final price" fees. As a buyer, I'm not forced to pay an additional 15-20% buyer's premium. And because they relocated to Oregon, they do not charge sales tax. As a potential buyer, those are some great incentives to bid more aggressively on their items. And I think we're seeing it with the final values they are getting on their items.

On a side note, I'm honestly surprised to see that the owner of the PSA 10 O-Pee-Chee Gretzky Rookie that will be auctioned off this summer, isn't using PWCC. Just based on what they've sold in the past year or so. And the staggering numbers they're pulling in. I feel like it would be a great choice. But that's just my opinion. Either way, it's been a fun ride. And we'll have to wait and see how much higher the market will go. Only time will tell.

Cheers,
